CH-4B in Balochistan

You do know that it was him and his words that averted another all out war between Pakistan and India right?

But no keep insulting the armed forces even though Imran Khan literally said not to insult them.

Please, criticizing an officer does not mean maligning an entire army. Its like saying all muhahirs are killers because Altaf Hussain is one.

Btw, Siachen did happen and nobody wants to talk about it.

I agree. The hilux trucks are absolute death traps.

The top brass just doesn’t want to supply them, because then there will be no deaths for them to hide behind.

This is why I suggest making a completely separate division of the army for internal threats. One that works very closely with the Intelligence agency, drone technology and informants throughout different habitations within the areas that the TTP/BLA are active.

This wing will tackle threats by having full surveillance coverage of The areas that they can hide, as well as weeding out their sympathisers that allow them to stay within the regions.

I also believe that the ground units that tackle these should work in conjunction with close air support drones, as this would lower the death toll from snipers massively.

Furthermore, MRAPs should be absolute top priority for tackling these issues, due to the asymmetrical attacks of the TTP- and the fact that troop transport within regions where the military is targeted, should always be the highest quality

Too bad the PA doesn’t listen to me
I was going to open a thread for suggesting this actually. (Maybe a thread could be better?)

But isn't that essential what FC corps are supposed to be?

But yes, a separate division with training provided specifically for counter insurgency operations in difficult terrain in KP/Balochistan and equipped specifically to counter geurilla warfare tactics.

there's no military solution in B-stan but political - and that can never happen without military interference in politics, so we'll keep losing men in B'stan after every few decades

80% of it is going to be solved by politicians, rest 20% by military

BLA sympathizers (not terrorists) are also Pakistani so are the regular soldiers dying in the middle of nowhere somewhere in B-istan - they are dying because of hostile external powers and greedy insiders

The baloch struggle is like that of every Pakistani striving for political freedom, and economic prosperity and that should take place within the confines of a non violent political struggle

You are right about no military solution, but mil establishment will make the decision of a political dialogue as that province is being effectively run by the them and they are there in huge numbers.

Though pessimistic, but I see no solution and hide and seek continuing unless ,miraculously, billions of dollars worth resources are poured in. The goal is to exhaust Pakistan militarys' already very limited resources. A weak state pays this price.

Sadly, our establishment wasted too much time in political quarrels when new finance generating streams were needed.

Right now a flailing economy, unstable political scene coupled with floods and mal governance and now major kinetic operations puts the state under huge stress.

Nope.
That's not goal.
Goal is to tell top generals you can be rich and enjoy an incredible retirement with BMWs and RR in Belgium where as in other countries generals are just like civil servants.

Untill and unless the generals are told they are not going to be super rich or retire in foreign countries nothing will change.

They need to be told that the service they do isn't to become an elite super rich.
If they want to become elite super rich they shouldn't join the army.

This fundamental thing wouldn't change without changing the whole army British culture where British generals will come to India to become super rich.

They will need to end batman/civil servants, sell those hefty palaces of core commanders and ban generals to retire or work or leave the country in the end. They will have to arrest and prosecute any one who has wealth beyond means especially ISI, chiefs and past PM/presidents.

Problem is everyone thing generals are angels and are not dictated by same greed as other human beings

But if you ask people going into army, half do it for "better life style"

In other countries people who join army don't do it for "lifestyle"

In my opinion Baluchistan needs concentrated population centers so justice system, health and education infra can be made available to people. This would also help to have a better surveillance of the Baluchistan.

Drones will help to tear apart the groups who attack our soldiers.

You're right but how do you implement something like this in a society ruled by them?

Perhaps name it "The creation of A seperate counter-terror division within KP/Balochistan"

Ultimately, the SSG are trained for this task. However, due to the size of the problem, it would be more suited to create a brand new organisation that is larger than the SSG, but still equally capable in these matters.

A larger size is needed due to the fact that counter insurgency requires a higher troop to civilian ratio than other operations.

It will be like a larger version of the Zarrar Commandos

I made the thread but can't seem to tag your username for some reason

Has nothing to do with politics

I do not want to drag this discussion since I am real close to be declared a traitor here on PDF.

But briefly, 'Balochistan Awami Party' (currently ruling party) is an artificial party created by political engineering just like IJI and Q-league were created to be pets of military establishment.

Role of 'BAP' in Balochistan is similar to the role of 'Jammu and Kashmir National Conference' in IOK.

But yeah, it has nothing to do with politics, if that ends this argument.

All parties are, in Pakistan

I don't see many people supporting PDM, majority of support is for IK

Here is another example of IDIOT-of-Highest-Order:

Zia was the man and that's why he was removed by foreign powers with help from the whisky drinking cabal within the military.

There is a reason why insurgency died out during his tenure and didn't rear its head until another shameless whiskey drinking colonial sepoy Busharaf came to power.
