Built in the early 50s, it was superior to the American made F-86 and F-100 at the time. Equipped with Canadian made radar and engine. Hell, even today India cannot make radar and engine for Tejas. As America declines demographically and economically, Canada will have to restarts its own domestic aviation industry.

Canada and Britain continue to have close cultural ties. For instance, both have parliaments as opposed to the US which has congress.

British also help US to develop engine/radars/avionics early vwersion of their engines/radars/avionics based on British designs, and US called UK is the father of USA, so what so special about Britishers help Canada in defense fields in early cold war days???

I think canada and russia should jointly carryout such programs as russia is facing economic difficulties so they can jointly develop su57 and aircraft carriers with canada

u.s influence is decreasing after covid19 their economic condition is not good so if russia takes firm stand and china also joins them they can convince canadian leadership of this matter

Canada ain't buying any fighter jets soon. They always say no money. F-18 from the 1980s will have to soldier on into the 2050s probably.

Canada is a sovereign country. It is not America's business (no pun intended) from which country Canada buy. Hell, Canada bought Leopard 2 tanks from Germany instead of M1 tanks from the US and the US can't stop that.
