CERN researchers confirm existence of the Force

"Room temperature synthesis of covellite nanoplatelets with broadly tunable localized surface plasmon resonance"

scientific fields need a radical overhaul... this cartel language i quote above must be simplified further.

i can quote some cartel language from the microprocessor/operating-system design field ( in which i am master )... even i wouldn't be able to understand what some phd student is speaking.

all full of pompous silly alphabets.

It cannot be simplified any further, every word is as simple as it can be giving the whole idea of the paper. My paper on 'superlensing effect of self assembled gold nanoparticles' had more pompous words, and the work is still in progress. Have requested access to the university supercomputer to run the data, as my workstation is unable to run simulation on that large number of nanoparticles.

An hour in clean room costs $50, we need to have as much of theoretical data before embarking on synthesis or fabrication. The charges for TEM/SEM data are extra. Efficiency is one key aspect of research.

This project was funded by USAF, and was done in collaboration with Lawrence Berkeley national Laboratory.

okay.

you know the details to your project so i will only say this... the idea behind technological projects should be to be able to manufacture them in the simplest possible way... there shouldn't be need to huge factories with pristine laboratory conditions.

the manufacture should be doable within small set-ups like a 3d printer ( for which your projects seems to have a logical end ).

to this end, the project must be simplified right from the start.

you know your project, just take care of the overall political/manufacturing simplifications.

Best of luck for that in nanotechnology. We deal in an environment, where a dandruff flake can render your day's of work useless.

This synthesis process is just a start, government is putting money to make high efficiency solar cells and transistors from this.

Please remove the quote after looking at the paper.

Clearly, everyone knows Gaddaffi's tent was more beneficial for mankind than CERN.

Didn't watch. What's he saying? Foretold his future maybe, the one where he took a photo op with a certain sewer pipe?

well, he certainly foretold the 2011 psychopathy of western governments by mentioning the open insanity of them against iraq in 2003 and after... he foretold that india and pakistan will keep fighting over kashmir in 2015 because they wouldn't use his kashmir solution... he foretold the uselessness of the uno security council which would in 2011 become rubber stamp for nato invasions... such things... i encourage you to watch.

Sadly his crystal ball wasn't enough to save him.

I believe these are just to keep jobs.. and nothing else. They can never find anything... because what they are looking for cannot be explained mathematically. They should have known, if they could simply put anger, love , fear, pain in mathematical model... when these feelings cannot be explained in equations, forget God.

You should know, people who do this sorts of work, working at the CERN for example, I visited it about 3 years back, the people that work there, do so because they feel passionately about what they do there, and they are right to think this way. Not for money and not just having a job for having a job sake.

Also, the force is real, there were a couple research papers in the 1970's, I think they even made a film trilogy and a prequel trilogy about this.

7th documentary on use of the Force is coming out shortly also.

is the "large hadron collider" really worth something, or is it another case of more-mathematicians-than-physicists convincing each other of some silly number theories??

Buddy don't You dare show your ignorance like this again. These are not "just" theories. They're they BEST way to explain a phenomenon. The way you use theory is not the same way mathematicians or scientists use the word theory.

Plus these guys are actually doing something and advancing human civilization... What are you doin?

Out of a passion, or a hobby people do a lot of things. There is no problem if they do it at least they are utilizing time for discovering things. My point is something different.
