No it didn't...
...initially a United Bengal was proposed as a third entity by the Bengali Muslim leaders and Jinnah agreed to it. It was Nehru and Patel who disagreed. Britain too knowing the challenge it would be to divide up India into India/Pak didn't favor adding more complications for it by creating a third division.
Jinnah relented from this third entity concept bcuz it was already challenging enough to go against the wishes of Congress(which represented the views of majority of Indians) and Mountbatten in order to gain Pakistan.

Its not Independence Day. Today is Victory Day. India and Bangladesh both celebrate Bangladesh Victory Day. For India its National Victory day for Armed forces and in Bangladesh its National Victory Day for civilians.
