Casualties in Jerusalem bus station blast

Standing with does not mean always agreeing with you. People can stand with Israel expectations of peace and be against terrorism but also be able to tell you- stop with the adding of more settlements while talks are going on.
Yes i agree that friends can sometimes disagree, but at the end of the day, when all is said and done a true friend stands by your side no matter what.
You might disagree, but that is my belief.

Have Israeli thought about why that is the case? Here I am not talking about only those bible-reading people or countries. If Jews are demonized by those type of people, I can understand.

Historically, Jews and Muslims have not fought each other until the last 100 years.

And who will stand with us? Liberal America? Anti-Semitic Europe? Even India won`t stand with us. As much as i appreciate your solidarity friends, i`m afraid your government doesn`t share your sentiment.

Well, Europe has a long history of persecution of Jews, way before the holocaust. And historically you are wrong, Jews were persecuted all over the Muslim world. They just didn`t have a country to fight back with.

Since the 11th century, there have been instances of pogroms against Jews.[12] Examples include the 1066 Granada massacre, the razing of the entire Jewish quarter in the Andalucian city of Granada.[13] In North Africa, there were cases of violence against Jews in the Middle Ages,[14] and in other Arab lands including Egypt,[15] Syria.[16] and Yemen[17] Jewish population was confined to segregated quarters, or mellahs, in Morocco beginning from the 15th century. In cities, a mellah was surrounded by a wall with a fortified gateway. In contrast, rural mellahs were separate villages inhabited solely by the Jews.[18]

The Almohads, who had taken control of much of Islamic Iberia by 1172, were far more fundamentalist in outlook than the Almoravides, and they treated the dhimmis harshly. Jews and Christians were expelled from Morocco and Islamic Spain.[19] Faced with the choice of either death or conversion, some Jews, such as the family of Maimonides, fled south and east to the more tolerant Muslim lands, while others went northward to settle in the growing Christian kingdoms.[20][21]

In 1400, the Jews of Aleppo were herded into their synagogues and slaughtered to the last man by soldiers of Central Asian Islamic conqueror Tamerlane; the young women were raped.[22] In 1465, Arab mobs in Fez slaughtered thousands of Jews, leaving only 11 alive, after a Jewish deputy vizier treated a Muslim woman in an offensive manner. The killings touched off a wave of similar massacres throughout Morocco.[23][24]

In 1492, Askia Mohammad I came to power in the previously tolerant region of Timbuktu and decreed that Jews must convert to Islam or leave; Judaism became illegal in Mali, as it did in Catholic Spain that same year.[25]

Well, when you say peace on one side and still keep adding on settlements there on the other hand, people just do not trust what kind of peace you really mean.

BTW, that kind of all-weather friends you have mentioned above, I do not think Israel has many. Even U.S. is criticizing Israel's continuously building settlements there when supposed peace talk is on the way.

To outsiders, it seems that Israel does not care what Palestinian thinks or wants. The gesture Israel gives to the World is that: we have the military upper hand and we can do whatever we want to.

I do know Europe's persecution. In Muslim world, well, most of them are Muslims. I do not think there are many Jews living in Muslim World since they are not that tolerant towards other religions. However, the ottman empire indeed showed certain tolerance towards other religions including Jews. I have to say that systematic persecution against Jews was done in Europe, not other places.

We can debate that in another thread, stay on topic please. I`ll conclude with this: Yes i agree, there are only a handful of such friends.

History of the Jews under Muslim rule - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There were good times in Muslim countries for jews, i do not deny that. But they were slaughtered during different times under different Muslim rules, that is a fact.

First, I did say that Muslim world is really NOT a tolerant world against other religions. I will choose not to live their world at all. About the persecution history, I surely do not know much except the Europe one.

I think they should have migrated to China long time ago since we are indeed much more tolerant towards outside people.

Well, we have a suicide bombing and what we have said is indeed not off-topic when we mention the settlement building. It is one of the causes of such bombing.

If it is legit and universally accepted, you should not expect that only a few support such construction. BTW, even among the few you mention, I bet they support Israel as a country, but not necessarily the policies it carries on for such settlement.

I don`t think any country supports the policies of another completely. I meant it as what it is, supporting a country as a country. And it was not a suicide bombing, they laid a bomb in a package by the bus station.

RIP to the poor lady and may God give health to the injured victims.

It is sad to say that this is not the end.

Such types of bombing won't cause big damage at all except chaos. The problem is that high level of attacks may be more likely in the future. Terrorists have never dreamed of 911 types of attacks 30 years ago. Well, they kept learning and modifying their tactics. In addition, they seem to infiltrate deeper into our society.

The deeper they are, the more potential damages they may cause.

In addition, they are not universally considered as terrorists. Actually to many, they are considered heroes. As long as such type of confrontation exists, such terror will haunt people around there for a long long time.
