Casualties in Jerusalem bus station blast

An explosion near a bus in West Jerusalem has caused dozens of casualties, Israeli police said.

Scores of ambulances converged on the area near the central bus station and a city conference hall in a Jewish neighbourhood of downtown Jerusalem on Wednesday.

Initial reports said that around 20 people were injured in the attack although the exact number was not known.

Live television showed a bus with broken windows and bloodstains on the pavement. It did not appear from the television pictures that the explosion occurred inside the vehicle.

Bombings have been rare in Jerusalem in the past several years. Palestinians carried out dozens of bombings in the city at the height of an uprising that began in 2000.

Micky Rosenfeld, the foreign press spokesman for the Israel Police, said that a device in a bag that was left near the bus station exploded when the bus passed.

"This was not a suicide attack," Rosenfeld said.

That is stupid talk. Israel is never under pressure to have internal security lapse. It's being asked to stop growing settlements illegally. Don't blame the Us and Europe for your internal roadblocks.

Standing with does not mean always agreeing with you. People can stand with Israel expectations of peace and be against terrorism but also be able to tell you- stop with the adding of more settlements while talks are going on.

This is a war. It will never end until both sides make concessions to make peace.

The sad part is that this is not a war that only involves military personnel but everyone living there. Everyone is a target or accomplice.
