This statement carries the assumption that JF-17 can match the Rafale in avionics, radar and EW capabilities.
JF-17 was never designed to match the Rafale or any other Aircraft in terms of Avionics, Radar or EW (1 on 1). The purpose of the JF-17 is to work in tandem with other Assets of PAF to negate the advantages the Rafale has. The biggest advantage the JF-17 has is that it is data-linked to PAF's force multipliers, which propels JF-17's capabilities many folds.
only practical option is Typhoon which is said to be even more capable in A2A than Rafale...
Rest any current chinese fighter beside J-20 wont do...
And PAF already must be exposed to Saudi Typhoons ... if Pakistan can allocate around 4 Billion USD for this purchase of around 20... it should be more than sufficient for taking care of Rafale in IAF...
Not by a long shot, this is certainly what European marketers would like us to believe but this is not the case. While the Rafale is no doubt a very capable platform, especially the SPECTRA is incredible impressive, it is not the end of the world. I remember hearing the same thing about the SU30MKI, that is the Raptor of South Asia and is simply untouchable because of its PESA radars and can act like a Mini AWAC bla bla bla. We all know how that turned out when it was put in an actual combat scenario.
PAF is following the right strategy, and that is investing in force multipliers to negate the advantage of an individual platform. Also, keep in mind that the Chinese are investing far more into R&D tech than the French or the Indians are. Just look how far the Chinese Aviation Industry has come in the last 20 years.
But supersonic CM 400AKG has a ballistic trajectory and easy to intercept. Problem lies in detection and interception. Imagine a scenario where MKIs launch ALCM Brahmos and they hit our place having an importance. Since no capable air defense is there to intercept Supersonic ALCM from our side, they hit their targets and we plan the similar attack. We use RA'AD IIs on our Mirages/Thunders and within our boundary release the ALCM. IAF AWACs detects the ALCM and sends the signals to the air defense. Imagine the target is Mumbai or Dehli the air defense which includes NASAM II and S400 (as they would be gaurding important strategic locations) are alerted through AWAC and the ALCM is detected due to alertness and is intercept quickly. How is this not possible?

First of all, Brahmos is a supersonic missile with an extremely high IR simply because of the speed it travels at, and its inability to hug the terrain. PAF when fully alert will immediately detect the launch of Brahmos and would immediately launch counter measures against a missile that is giving out IR signature of a freaking building.
There is a reason why the US or even Russia did not go for supersonic missiles in their arsenal simply because of the IR it creates. This is simple physics. So lets not make Brahmos into something its not, and not fall for the usual propaganda machine. I read the same that the SU30MKI was God's gift to the Earth and was simply invincible. We all know how that turned out.
Don't worry sir these low-lifes never catch a break, It's again the redux of Rodeo Pony aka Su-30MKI, remember those good old days when literally even a normal thread on Pakistan's GDP would end up with Indians gloating the range of Bars radar, in SU-30 and it's supermaneuverability disco moves . Recount the whole deal; the Raptor of the east, the seventh wonder of the world. Even in an obituary thread Indians wouldn't shy away from gloating an ode to the Goliath R-77 , 37 missiles. The Indians had literally turned it into a unicorn ....Outcome the 27 Feb and safradors vanished like a fart in the wind
Thank You so much for bringing that up
And LOL on the highlighted, the super COBRA move.
