All the successive Govts have missed out on putting the car manufacturing mafia at bay in Pakistan. The cars in Pakistan cost near to the poor man's dwellings. What a shame below is just one regional example compared to the neighbour.

The government has not missed out. These results are by active design.

Did your NAWAZ SHARIF BHAGORA fix the auto industry or any industry as three times PM? If not why are you complaining? He was an industrialist after all

This misery faced by the people of Pakistan for the last 50 years, you just wake up. These are the fruits of the infertile system in favour of general Pakistani but very efficient to private business mafias with unhealthy business practices.

Who is complaining? I just described the situation, not that there is anything wrong with it. PMIK will do nothing to change it either, nor will any dictator. This system transcends all forms of rule in Pakistan.

Pakistan didn't have protected industries during dictator Ayub Khan. The destruction was started by Bhutto the democrat.

Car is expensive while petrol is cheap in Pakistan. The reverse is true for India.

Pakistan can lower import duties on components used by locally manufactured cars. Such a move is often the first step to reduce car prices. But it will contribute to higher imports in the balance sheet :undecided:

Lack of small scale industries are behind this.In India from tire to headlight all are made in small industries and later joined together cuz cost cutting.

Well, present day Pakistan came into being only after 1971. It has been all downhill ever since. Besides, it was over half a century ago. This is the 21st century, and the same policies still remain.

Of course policies will remain the same. Why would anyone change the Bhutto's democratic system of corruption and incompetency?
