Remember that they conducted a nuclear test in 1992 when President Venkatraman was visiting them.

Let me update you on Agni Program. Fully composite A5 (With new high strength resine) with a very high power motor is making. This 2 changes in themselves should be sufficinet to boost Agni range by a good margine. MIRV Technology is almost ready. A V weight is just 26 tons which shall further reduce in new version.

VKS told that A VI is a natural follower of AV. He said that they are working on it though no official sanction was granted. AC confirmed that but I have not heared any officially anouncement. VKS told that we can make any new missile of any range withing 4 years. He told that in 2013. AC said that range is the least problemetic area.

Agni-5 is a very heavy missile already. 50 ton missile plus canister and gas generator will be 55 tons or more.
That will effect road mobility as not many roads can take that much weight.

Another thing is Weight to range ratio is same in Pakistani missiles as India.
Pakistan's Shaheen-2 has a range of 2500km @ 25 tons.
India's Agni has range of 5000 Km @ 50 tons.
So Indian missile at twice the weight of Pakistai missile has twice the range.
That means the propellant and Rocket motor of a rather old and deployed Pakistani missile is same as a much recent and still undeployed and experimenral Indian missile.

Nope .Shaheen's 2 maximum range is 2500 km(or even less than that) whereas Agni 5 minimum range is 5000 km.The Agni 5 could target as far as 8000 km.

But both countries are far behind say Russia.
Their Topol has 10.000 km range @ 45 tons

India test fires Agni-5 ballistic missile.
The missile hit a target area 4600 Km away.
Missile was fired from an enclosd canister.
Prime minister Modi was also invited on the occasion.
