It could be that i have never paid as much attention before and maybe after the rangers operation my expectations were really high, whatever the reasons i was very disappointed.

As soon as i arrived at the airport one of my suit cases was half open and it was obvious someone had quickly tried to put his hands through it (all they took was an electric shaver). Then through the baggage check the customs guy asked if i brought any gifts for him. When i came out of the airport i had to take a taxi as i hadn't told anyone i was coming so i can surprise my parents. The taxi guy who was friendly enough till we got to the destination refused to give me the change for Rs5000 and his excuse was that i have alot of money so it shouldn't be a problem if i give him abit more (lamest excuse ever) anyway i let it go as i was too tired and couldn't be bothered arguing.

This was my story of just the day of arrival. I can write a whole article of all the things i saw in my 10 days in Karachi and now in my opinion going just after the Sharif family is not going to change anything. Will probably need to put half the country in jail.

Bro you land in any new city the first day you get ripped off. That's normal.

It feels like everyone in Pakistan is either trying to rip you off or kill you, I just came back from Karachi and for the couple of weeks that i was there i felt, stressed, unsafe and unhealthy. Its getting out of control. I am quite frankly feeling embraced to call myself Pakistani and i never in my life ever thought that i will ever feel like that.

Then you should really stay "embraced" and away from Pakistan. There has always been a mess but I don't see things being as bad as you happen to claim here. Besides Karachi is not all Pakistan, and Karachi happens to be in a major mess thanks to the dysfunctional govt there and the dysfunctional people who won't do anything about that...

But the real problem is when you dont act and behave like a Pakistani but you want to feel special because you returned from bla bla bla land and want people to worship you. Act and behave like just any other among the people and I don't see how you will face any more problems than an average Pakistani living there?

True. One of the problems is people like to boast about their money and show off and people only take advantage when you let them. In my family I don't help the extended family because they 're lazy. They have land but won't work it. I have in the past helped close family like sisters and their offspring only to get slapped in the face. Now it's every man for himself. Its not only boasting and showing off. Even when u tell, them something about your success, they will try to take advantage from your success , they will tell you to benefit them too.
One of my friend's bro got appointed at good position and his all relatives started coming to him and asking him to do their this n that work as he has authority . These people who didnt even ask him when he was in difficulty.
That is why it is said, never tell your successes to people , if you have beautiful things or if you have beautiful life, dont tell it to anyone... people ruin beautiful things .

Your relatives are same as mine. My father helped his brother's children , getting them education , jobs, future , they were orphans.. but they dont accept these favors. They constantly backbite against us and are jealous ones.
Our soceity has such sick set up to not help themselves but is acceptable to be muftkhor nd hus haraam .

2 weeks ago.... locals are complaining that the honey bottle fame PTI minister or his family sided with assailants... he is denying.... police initially ridiculed victims family and put an FIR against victim.... the inspector later quickly discharged that FIR when it went on media.... and lodged a new report against assailants.... 2 weeks have passed and same inspector is still in charge of investigations ..... despite country wide out cry .... khan is yet to take a notice

Certain members of Pakistani society are not like this such as the Agha Khanis, And Memons. Their communities work as units like the Jews do to become successful. Whether you are family or not, everyone in that certain community is set up for success. The entire community will pool money together when someone is getting married so that newlywed couple is bound for success.

My arguement is that they are far superior and cohesive to us. They have their squabbles and differences no doubt. But compared to Muslims there is absolutely no comparison.

So your solution to the problems i witnessed in Karachi, is don't come back.........great logic. As for the dysfunctional government, the people of Karachi are equally responsible for the mess because they are the ones that have been voting the same criminals over and over again.

Get this all the time if you go to Pakistan. Bhai charity to nahi kholi jo aap ko sab detunga.

It's very hard to find honest Pakistanis. I won't even say how much money my family has lost here due to fraud, property seizure, land seizure etc.

I don't agree that people get ripped off every time they go to a new city. As for rangers operation i think thats the reason i had over-expectations.
