In 1993, scientists cracked open a piece of amber, took out the body of an ancient weevil, and sampled its DNA. Or, at least, so we thought. It took another few decades of research, and a lot of take-backs, before scientists could figure out how we could truly unlock the genetic secrets of the past.

Cue the greatest theme ever:

If this is actually possible to bring back extinct beings, i would love to be able bring back the following

For that we will need not only their genetic but also epigenetic information. Which will be even harder after death of the cells.there is a different between science and science fiction.

@dexter , just forgot to say ...thanks for bringing my attention to this channel....I watched cpl more of their stuff and subbed....very nice content.

I didn't know that this cat had spots like a Leopard.

Can you please explain in simple terms what that means ??
Please Google the term in simple words epigenetic system is the hardware for genetic (information and software) but remember both are made of nucleotides and proteins so both are physical systems hence the analogy is flawed but you will understand what i am saying.

There is no need to bring back Jurassic world predators. Then things are nasty. I don't like the idea of being chased by a T-Rex or a Raptor !
