Can Iranian movie 'Muhammad' alter Islam's violent image?

This is common. We have exchange students here. More than 75% neo converts to Islam leave formally in a year. This is documented. The rest just stops following it. Otherwise, given the rates of conversion, the world would have been Muslim. In fact Evangelical Christianity has grown overall overtaking Islam in vast stretches of the world - especially Africa. And even in Jammu and Kashmir. You won't believe how many Kashmiris in the Valley have been converted to Christianity!
Glad to know Kashmir is are converting to Christianity..even though I don't have a good opinion of Christianity it at least doesn't promote violence.

welcome back brother :)
but how did u converted back to Hinduism?
I did not convert to Islam in open...I was roaming around some Muslims and doing namaz etc..to be Frank I even then did not believe that God has sent quran..I always knew it was the handiwork of some men...but as I was going through severe depression I wanted a solace..Islam gave that... a feeling of brotherhood..a feeling that all Muslims are one..I felt Muhammad might have had the blessings of God...otherwise how could he win battle of badar against an army 3 times his(conveniently ignoring his soldiers defeat at the hands of quraish in the next battle)...I felt how could a religion go grow from Morocco to India within 40 years of its inception?..I also felt how a normal man could go on to become the king of arabia and stamp his authority if god was not on his side?(many of these things are actually made up...we dont have any non muslim sources to verify these..we also dont have evidence of the time of birth of islam).

Later when i read muhammads life closely i felt no god cant be with people like him..there is violence everywhere in muslim countries..what if i am following the opposite of gods religion?
After that i slowly disconnected the company of muslims..some of them enquired what happened to me.

I just told them my parents wont accept conversion and i even lost faith in god. They tried to convince me but i was strong with my decision.

A movie can't alter the image of something whose core is all about violence, segregation and discrimination.

I agree 1000 times, no movie can change attitude of a bigoted hater whose sole mission is to hate anything Islam, just because he has not been taught to think without bias and prejudices, in fact an extremist that world does not realize for the time being.

Best of luck to people for their holy mission of maligning and hating Islam on this forum.

For Muslims, why don't you people get it? How long would it take you to realise that no matter what you do, no matter how nice you become, no matter how tolerant you portray yourself, you will still be hated and insulted if you are a Muslim. No movie can change views of people who have hate for Islam at the core of their heart. They will still draw sketches, they will still try burning Quran, they will still hate you and label you terrorists. The only thing that can help you is "Get your act together and hold tight to what Prophet (PBUH) preached and practiced", otherwise we will separately be killed and insulted as Sunnis, Shias etc etc.

. I will have to admit Sanghi pariwar teaches you well ...................... but it is not enough to convince a Muslim.

Quite the story dravidian. :D

Unfortunately it cannot.how can a two or 4 hour movie combat against the constant stream of hate through media everyday. Media is a powerful thing and it holds the power to change the perceptions of an entire nation. The constant hate mongering on media against Islam and Muslims have condemned us to be looked at a very negative light. Unfortunately the movie won't make a difference but that doesn't mean it shouldnt be made...

This movie is the answer to all the hate against Islam. It is an attempt to portray and showcase the peaceful roots of Islam and how its a peaceful religion corrupted by terrorists. If this movie changes the perception of one guy or makes one person more Islamic or educates one person about Islam then it was a success.

I will most definitely watch this movie and Iran should be thanked and encouraged if this movie is great ( I didn't watch it so I really can't make a judgment but I am most definitely excited about it) .

Islam does not have an image problem, if it did then it will be the slowest growing or even shrinking religion, instead Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world.

Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world.
Yes. Syria, sodan, Libya, Iraq , Pakistan, chechneya, Afganistan, Nigeria, Somalia, Iran, K.S.A, Lebanon, Yemen, Palestine, Xinjiang from china etc. ..
Peaceful life too.

Congrats for your quest to find answers and enlightenment. Majority of people just blindly follow the religion of their parents, and only a few try to look for answers. Hope your quest for seeking answers never ends, and you also push to find more and more answers.

Zoroastrianism is younger than the Vedic religion but older than
modern Hinduism.
Proto-Indo-Iranian religion :
The Proto-Indo-Iranian religion is considered the precursor of the
Vedic religion and Zoroastrianism.
There are many things common between Zoroastrianism and the
Vedic religion. For example, Ahura s are the good guys in Z. and
Daeva s are the bad guys. Their names are similar to Vedic
Asuras and Devas.
It was Zarathusr (Zoroaster), who made significant changes in the
original religion, and thus founded Zoroastrianism. He exalted
the earlier god of wisdom to the position of Supreme being or
Creator, Ahura Mazda .
Later Zoroastrianism was influenced by other factors from 1500
BC to the 6th century BC. By the sixth century, Zoroastrianism
became a formal independent religion. I don't know much about
the history of Zoroastrianism, but the internet seems to say that
there weren't significant alterations in the religion later on.
Historical Vedic Religion
The religion of the Vedic period (also known as Vedism [note
1] ) was the religion of the Indo-Aryans of northern India.
[5] It is a historical predecessor of modern Hinduism ,
though significantly different from it.
The Vedic religion was characterised by deities like Indra, Agni,
Varuna, and yajnas. There was no idol worship or temples.
Many defining traits of modern Hinduism - like idol worship,
prominence of Vishnu-avatar and Shiva, came later. The time is
not clear, but most probably its few centuries in the beginning of
the Common Era, in the reign of the Imperial Guptas.
Also, the Bhakti movement of the medieval age led to significant
change in the meaning of Hinduism.

Well we both knew that zoroastarism and Hinduism have the same origin . and we also knew that origin is enough different from both religion that we can't consider that as any of both religion. And that original religion is a dead religion . it's right that Hinduism is one of the oldest religion and have alot of followers. But you must agree that there are older religion that my not have as much follower but are still being practiced.
