India has the population, with a high population comes high GDP. China is enjoying the fruits of a high population, India can too.

But you have to handle a large population as well.
Feed, clothe, shelter, educate, and heal them.

India is doing worse on all these aspects.
Plus the huge corruption.

China & India were at the same place in 1947.
Now look where China is and look where India is.
China had to change its style of governance to achieve what it is today.
The Indian public today are not willing to change.

India isnt doing worse. It's doing better in the last 15+ years than probably in other past 50 years..

its nice to see you cheerlead for them but what about your own country? 25 years back, india was much worse than pakistan in all aspects

first we need to define what super power means, in my view super power is that country which has huge economy with big per capita income+ Big armed forces + Technological superiority+ the degree of self independence than dependence on other countries.

right now only 1 super power in the world which is America.

so now talk about India...

1.India's economic growth depends on western countries situation, India's economy largely depends on exports, so recession in customer countries badly impact on India's economy, not only that , if the buyers moves to other county that will create problem for india too (as we already know african countries are now coming to this area) so the card is on west countries hand. India needs to make alternative solution. per capita income still low which indicates how much you will be able to control economic problem individual to individual.

2. as of military power if you compare it with America you will get the answer. If you check military technology largely depends on Russia and Israel.

And who said India is doing worse at that aspect?We are self sufficent in food production and we are spending $70 billion an year for poverty alleivation programs alone.In the coming 5 years,India is going to spend $ 1 trillion in infrastructure,while will cause further economic boom and generation of Job oppertunities.

By the time we are old you can pretty much expect India to be a big f'n deal. You can expect many other nations to join India in that league. And hopefully the hype will be on African nations by then.
