Today I came across this puzzle, which I am unable to solve... Can anyone make sense of this?

on a superficial look the formula (a+b+c)*b/(a-c) seems to fit.
albeit being complex it does satisfy the above two given eq

by this solution answer is 6

what it's not 5 or 6 but 24 the way I see it

first

9+5+8=22 and since 5 is less than 8 you times 5=110

second

8+6+2=16 that's pefect 8 is more than 6 and 6 is more than 2

third

7+2+3=12 since 2 is less than 3 you times 2=24

so the answer is 24
