If something is part of religion does not mean you have to do it, a Sikh does not become a non-Sikh if he does not keep a beard. In Islam keeping a beard is an act of Sunnah, yes, virtually all Muslims consider Sunnah to be a "fundamental" part of Islam, and there is a large percentage who consider it "compulsory". I do not claim to interpret your beliefs, I would request that you do not attempt to interpret mine.

In my family, I am the only one who shaves, my brothers have never shaved in their life. The ones without a beard, only do a close trim, they have never, I repeat never shaved. It is up to an individual how they choose to follow the practices within their religion. Similarly, not all Sikhs have beards, the ones who don't, are not ostracised. It is still a choice.

So, have some decency and stop attempting to interpret a religion you do not belong to. You people are busy building a Hindutva state, but it can be argued there is no such thing as a Hindu religion. Learn to respect others.

He should've taken permission from the senior officers before sporting a beard. I have seen plenty of Muslim police officers, I never saw them shaved their mustache and having a henna beard. Pretty sure he didn't join the force in this form because you have to appear in a clean face unless you're Sikh.
