Calls for Bangladesh war trials

RR,
Nowadays many Bangladeshis are questioning about that insane “3 million” figure so it means that they are realizing that they were used by propaganda and now their eyes are opening. I agree that their war museum shows false facts and figures but what do u think should we leave this bogus propaganda to tease us forever?

It would be unfair to deport Bengalis b/c most of them are living here before 1971 and they are loyal to Pakistan.

.
Those Bengalis who supported Pakistan and are in Pakistan should never be deported. They will have a tough time in Bangladesh,

Likewise, those East Pakistanis who supported Pakistan should immediately be allowed back into Pakistan since they are wallowing!!

Pakistan should bring Biharis back but a better option would be to develop relations so that this problem could be resolved once for all.

I agree, if we can host million of Afghans then we can surly host a million Biharis, who are our very own.

. .
I'd disagree. First, the Afghanis don't want to stay in Pakistan - they are refugees, they want their plots of land back in Afghanistan when the war finishes. The Biharis want to live permanently in Pakistan. Secondly, the Biharis don't really have a historical presence in Pakistan, the Pashtuns do (and so some Afghanis do to a greater degree - although different tribes, but not all). The same situation would be Britain accepting an unlimited number of immigrants from Ghambia since they were part of, and fourght valiantly for, the British Empire..it won't happen, and rightly so. Just because the Biharis fought valiantly for Pakistan, does not mean they should automatically be given Pakistani citizenship. For a start, Bangladesh has lumped all Biharis together, the true patriots with those that didn't do much. Though, as I said, I favour the compassionate approach of rewarding them, in exchange for Bengalis in Pakistan, since Bengal itself is being racist towards the Biharis by denying them citizenship rights.

.
The Biharis will have the same feeling as Pakistanis feel towards the US, if one abandons them!

Pakistan didnt abandon them afaiaa. It took its quota of Biharis and made them full citizens. Where the extra Biharis came in, I don't know. The line should be drawn somewhere.

The total population of biharis is only 200000-400000 much less than the total afghan refugee population. Also there are about 1 million afghans who took citizenship in the last 10 years. We have to take them in. Also people who have suffered in foreign lands are more loyal and extremely patriotic cauz they know what they would be suffering if they were living outside. We have to accept them.

Many of them do want to stay. over a million have been given citizenship in last 10 years. What are u talking about? Afghans bring crime, stupid ideas, terrorism etc into Pakistan and talk to any Afghan pashtun and he will give u bullshit about NWFP being part of Afghanistan. 1000's are fighting f4 baitullah. My Pashtun freinds in Peshawar are sick of the afghans and want to kick them out because they think all pashtuns want to be united as Afghans and think Pakistani pashtuns r waiting for them with open arms to be "liberated". A freind who is police officer their tells me 80% of the crime is done by afghans in the city because they know this is a foreign country and they don't care what they do to it and how much they steal for it. Afghans r the most ungrateful people on earth.

And no way Bengalis shud be kicked out. Bengalis are our brothers and brotherly relations are being built between us though slowly. We should'nt in anyway throw out bengalis who live here alongside us. It would be destruction of the ties being built up. India helped them gain freedom but Bengalis r closer to us. Proves a lot already. They have no hostile intentions for us so we should'nt treat them badly. Biharis have proven their loyalty and will do so again if they r allowed to come here.

We did not abandon them. We have taken about 1/3rd of the biharis and most have been given citizenship... and US was never with us so they haven't abandoned us either.

There's no proof of this at all. No survey has been carried out to determine what they want. But noone wants to be a refugee. That is something everyone can agree on. Therefore, when the war finishes they will want to head back to Afghanistan. I think this comment is apt.

"I would also like to say that Afghans are not ungrateful people. We are greatly appreciative of the countries who have reluctantly extended their helping hands to us. Like many of us here, I hope and pray to God that the misery of the Afghans soon comes to an end so that we can go back to a place that we can really call "HOME!"

As for the million or so refugees that have been granted citizenship, what's your link?

Afghans bring crime, stupid ideas, terrorism etc into Pakistan and talk to any Afghan pashtun and he will give u bullshit about NWFP being part of Afghanistan.

Generalization after generalization. Refugees don't care much about politics, and are happy to be able to have a place like Pakistan to flee the war from. They are fed by the UN, so it's not trouble on Pakistan.

1000's are fighting f4 baitullah.

Baitullah Mehsud is a Pakistani. His tribe are fighting the Pakistani forces. These are not Afghanis. These are Pakistanis. Baitullah's tribe will not allow thousands of Afghanis to overrun the area, as tribal politics will come into play. Therefore, I regard your statement as proveable bullshyt.

My Pashtun freinds in Peshawar are sick of the afghans and want to kick them out because they think all pashtuns want to be united as Afghans and think Pakistani pashtuns r waiting for them with open arms to be "liberated".

This is your story. I can equally tell a story of my Pashtun friends in Peshwar that help feed and clothe the Pashtun refugees in the area.

A freind who is police officer their tells me 80% of the crime is done by afghans in the city because they know this is a foreign country and they don't care what they do to it and how much they steal for it. Afghans r the most ungrateful people on earth.

Alright, great, just don't expect me to take whispering, or what you say as fact. Links are the only way to prove this, and even if true, is one whisper, to which I would just quote the above, as written by a real Afghan refugee.

"I would also like to say that Afghans are not ungrateful people. We are greatly appreciative of the countries who have reluctantly extended their helping hands to us. That's a credible link, where's your credible link, or are they a story of a friend of a friend who relayed me such and such a story. This doesn't have a basis in fact.

And no way Bengalis shud be kicked out. Bengalis are our brothers and brotherly relations are being built between us though slowly.

Alright, Bengalis shouldnt be kicked out, fine. Why do you prefer them over Biharis? I say let the Biharis in, throw out the Bengalis, and it won't make any difference to the demongraphics of Pakistan. No excuse for not doing this.

Bengalis are not closer to "us" than Indians. Uttar Pradeshite Muslims would be closer to Pakistanis than Bengalis. Indian Punjabi Muslims and Gujeratis would be closer to Pakistanis than Bengalis. There's no excuse for not allowing Biharis in on condition they are exchanged for Bengalis.

What is left is Afghanistan? Afghanis do want to stay permanently in Pakistan since its like heaven to them.
Biharis do have a historical relationship with Pakistan they are the creators of Pakistan. One should admire their patriotism. They have more right on our land than us.

Yes I agree. The hell with the Afghans, they have given us nothing except for problems since the time of our independence. The Biharis indeed are more nationalistic then we can ever be, I mean they have been abused, in Bangladesh but they still fly the Pakistani flag.

Alright. You know best based on your friend of a friend telling you one day in a phone call also. It's very easy to sit here telling you about my friends of friends telling me fictitious stuff also, but it means diddly. What matters are links, credible links, not a person-specific impression one has based on the whisperings of a friend of a friend.

If anyone should know whether Afghanis want to return home, this man, Syed Banori, chairman of SHARP, would know. His words, and my link to prove you wrong.

Q: You work extensively with Afghan refugees. What are they telling you about repatriation?

A: I can say that most are very much willing to go back [to Afghanistan] provided they get respectable earning opportunities and shelter over there. Most are very poor and do not have much resources to build houses and start life again immediately after repatriating. The international community should address these concerns at the earliest. Secondly, Afghans are very concerned about the security situation inside Afghanistan. The Afghan government is still struggling to establish its authority beyond the capital. While this is happening, warlords, private militias, ordinary criminals, armed religious extremists and others opposed to [president Hamid] Karzai, make the country a very dangerous place

Notice, I'm not giving you any whisperings, but credible references from credible people that should know the answers to what we're discussing.

Biharis do have a historical relationship with Pakistan they are the creators of Pakistan. One should admire their patriotism. They have more right on our land than us.

Biharis that have never stepped foot on Pakistani soil do not have more rights to Pakistani lands, than those who are already Pakistani nationals! It's like saying that Ugandan nationals (or Indian citizens, or Pakistanis in Lahore) have more rights to UK's land than anglo people because they fought patriotically for the British Empire.

As for who was instrumental in forming Pakistan, I think political credibility for the nation of Pakistan goes to those who put forward the idea to Mountbatten, one could say Jinnah (whose immediate ancestry is from Kathiwar, India) was the most instrumental in Pakistan's formation. Does this mean Indians have more rights to Pakistan's lands than the Pakistani nationals? It's difficult to imagine so. Pakistani people deserve more credit for Pakistan's formation and present day status.
