All depends on NS's approval who wanted to go for the elections in the first place in April and didn't want to form government in the center. Now NS is not ready for leaving the government as well because they need more than 3 months to dilute the effect of hard decisions taken in the past two months to please IMF.

The original plan was for him and Ishaq Dar to come back, and Maryam to be free too, but that wasn't allowed either, due to public pressure mostly. This is where the problem started.

N was now dangling things in front of the estab, to get Ishaq Dar to come back, but the resistance was too strong. Opposition from within N was also seen, and the rumor is that some like Kh Asif were nudged to publicly show support for Miftah.

The latest copium I have heard from a N supporter is that this was a ploy by NS and Maryam to bury the politics of Shahbaz Sharif for good...that's why Maryam accepted defeat too easily and no resistance was put up in the form of high handedness.

Now house of Shahbaz is gone for good. If you were in the know early on, this was a MAJOR talking point by the Nawaz camp (also why Shahid Khaqan went to London). "Mian sahab, tussi bahir ho, tuadi tee vi bahir, tay Shahbaz aur Hamza hakoomat wich".

This was the mantra being read to baray Mian all the time, to somehow eliminate Shahbaz for good.

Now is this true or not, time will tell.

Bajwa doctrine was all about balancing china and US with treating India as good neighbor forgetting about their crimes.

Domestically it was that all the parties including the terrorist ones should work together for betterment of country .

The saazish is good within the boundaries of their homes.. however, if really Maryam has played dirty game against her chacha, it is a really bhonda plan.

They learned lesson well enough, this election result will give them a reason to give tickets to loyal people in GE.
The thing i am worried about is that IK could not break politics on personality basis. He himself is one such leader. What would be the future of PTI? Initially he tried to make his party an institution to not follow other parties later that process buried somewhere. I hop after GE he will fulfill this task.

I hope he addresses that issue before the GE. Once someone has a seat, it’s hard to ask them to hand it over to someone else. We have a shame based culture, and to be asked to resign or even just retire and hand over a seat will make people think they were not loyal enough.

Better to run the candidates you want now, so that people learn who they are before the GE and they have tike to do good work (to show what they can get done if elected) and give stump speeches.

On the issue of personality. I whole heartedly agree. IK is mortal and if he wants the movement he has lead to survive him and the changes to take root, he needs to build up institutions within the party to be primarily meritorious, only siding one way or the other for a more charismatic figure amongst the top 3-4 candidates, because skills like oration still matter when you are trying to sway some of our more emotional people that don’t listen to only logic and reason.

This is why I advocated for along time that PTI needs an academy for statesmanship, perhaps co-chaired by someone like SMQ, to teach key skills such as proper debating from logic and not emotion as well as enough about the law and management to effectively supervise their position in government.

Agreed. To the voter, and to the common man and media, it is N league, not Shahbaz or Mian. N main vote N ko parta hai, and local candidate, PTI main zyada IK ko parta hai.

Family politics only works within the party cadre, not the voter.

Agreed if anything this burys the politics of Maryam and Nawaz for good. Peoplr are not stupid anymore. Lala rules from london, while appointing younger brother PM and chota nephew CM of punjab. They think they can get away with such daylight robbery?

PmlN is done for good under MAryam and Nawaz. Shebhaz was smart to suck up to the establishment. He will remain their tool and golden boy suck up to their wishes similar to Elahi.

Now establishment will be forced to start negotiating with the PTI. Many smaller parties are likely to start jumping ship next few months- mqm, bap, and pmlq are all establishment tools.

Pmln sans sharif family is done. They completely misjudged the situation. Shehbaz utility will also sink big time. How useful is pmln led by shehbaz when it cant even get a strong minority let alone majority in punjab???
