1. It seems BGB has allowed Burmese Border Police (really old Luntin commanded by army officers) the domination of BD-Burma border. This is almost a repeat story of what happened sometime back.
2. Burma knows BD is totally isolated in the world. The nation and the armed forces suffer from low moral and ideological confusion. A village lad wearing the uniform will not hesitate giving his life for the motherland if he has been motivated correctly in following an ideology. But this blast of secularism demoralizes him. Patriotism doesn't grow in the tree.
3. Burma knows if attacked BD will invariably fall into India's lap. And India's help never comes free.

So In end BD will be lost? I admit its rational conclusion, After separating from Pakistan ,BD even can't defeat Bhutan without Indian assistance. Its a disgraceful period for any country, I don't see any better future of BD rather then live as a puppet and follow whatever their giant neighbor commands them.

Who will India side with? BD or Myanmar? I bet you India would back stab you the moment they get the chance.

I work in a political environment and let me assure you my friend that India will not sit idly if Bangladesh is attacked, even by Myanmar. Don't let the Jamaati - Hindutva crowd on PDF mislead you on Indo-Bangladesh relations. India will in all probability send in military advisers and military aid to Bangladesh and if the need arises, more detailed military assistance cannot be ruled out.

On topic: I read about this incident on another forum. The report here is not in detail as it was there. The fact seems to be that Myanmar acted unnecessarily aggressively with the Bangladeshi patrol. Myanmar needs to tone down on its aggressive posturing when it comes to Bangladesh

But our media reported these BGB come our side with patrol boat.. BGP tried to stop them and asked the matter why they come to Myanmar side.. they didn't say anything and open fired first.. when we shot back , one injuried and one jumped into water..

Why we shot back..?
we has 2 reasons..
1. when we saw them , none of them didnt wear uniform fully.. BGB shirt and lungi in lower... we cant comfirm whether they're real BGB or NOT..
2.and they open fired 1st..

we BGP is nothing wrong.. we do just like BSF.. nothing more.. nothing less.. and every country will do like this when people in such a uniform enter it's territory..

in future if they want to enter other territory, inform 1st our officer and wear full-uniform.. or we will shoot and it's our right..!!

in last year , RSO ambushed and took our 4 men in such a incident.. we didn't know they're alive or not.. why..? RSO based in Bangladesh and bangladesh didn't co-operate with us to get them unlike we do with India recently..

in this case.. Who will take responsible if they're not BGB..? hence we have right to shot..

Do you know the Geneva convention on POW which prohibit many thing including prohibition to depict the captive in a disrespectful manner. I am sure your army are not educated to know these matter.

Going to have to agree with VeeraBahadur, this isn't a valid excuse as most secular nations can get by with patriotism without the need for institutional religion like Turkey.

Our soldiers do have some 'issues'. It is mostly due to the Pilkhana tragedy. And there's also the matter of who gets what promotion under the ruling party. But that's a another story.
