Burhan Wani’s killing ‘deplorable’, violates Kashmiris’ rights: Pakistan

Armed Forces Special Powers Act
Armed Forces (Special Powers) Acts (AFSPA), are Acts of the Parliament of India that grant special powers to the Indian Armed Forces. The act passed in 1990 was applied to Jammu and Kashmir and has been in force since.

I need not go into the details of what rights this law has accorded to Indian Security forces and how they've used it in Kashmir. Abductions, Rapes, Torture, killings - the list is long and and horrifying.

those weapons are being used at indian backed namak haram afgani talibans -----and our eastern neighbours deserves a medal to teach the rest of asia that you can use miltary grade heavy weapons on your own public

I know of this one instance which happened 50 years ago. Its not like drones and F-16s are participating everyday for years, sorties after sorties.

If terrorists attack Pakistan and USA/ UK/Belgium/France, it doesn't mean security situation in Pakistan and rest are the same.

Magnitude and frequency cannot be distilled out of equation.

Pakistan is with you people of Kashmir, remember what the indians and hindus have done to you, teach your children, let them know their faith, culture and language and condemn the dark faced southern occupiers of your homeland
Tell those white Skinners that they may get shot if they dont follow the law of the land

AFSPA is their to protect the civilians from Islamic militants that geonicided kashmiri pandit and threw them out of their homeland.

Wani is dead and anybody who pick up guns will also be shot dead we don't give a f about Pakistanis butthurt

Pakistan should refrain from commenting anything about Indian internal affairs. Baloch life's are as valuable as wani's life

Oh I'm sure it is. While the Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch etc consistently reporting about Rapes, Torture, Abductions, and extra-judicial killings committed by Indian military forces under the cover of this law is a "Grand Global Conspiracy" against the Holy Indian Union meant to taint her greatness.

I suggest you move out of whatever shinny, unicorn-filled fairyland you're living in.

Nobody gives a damm about your rants as we are legitimate owner of Kashmir according to UN. So all those killings are against anti-nationals and terrorists. So you look after your own Kashmir which is azad in name only..

Have you read such reports concerning your land of pure ? What tribals did in 1947 ?

Its really ironic and ,at the same time, rich coming out of a Pakistani.

Have you forgotten "Grand global conspiracy" to taint Pak sar jameen from BD to OBL ?

I suggest to get off mushrooms while you still can.

Killing of Wani violates his rights? What right? Right to become terrorist?? Pakistan Foreign office is breaking its own records now.. :D

.
Current Pakistani FO seems to be hell bent on escalating things. Spending so much capital on commenting at the killing of a terrorist is an indication. Modi will respond in kind.

Being a soft democratic state India has always given a long rope to such terrorist elements but where terrorists always miscalculate is that they assume that the softness of state as equaling to cowardice and lack of tenacity.

Srinagar: In one of the deadliest attacks in recent years, eight jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were killed on Saturday evening when their bus came under attack from militants at Frestbal, some 14 kilometres from here, in Pampore district of Jammu and Kashmir.

A CRPF official said apart from the eight deaths, 21 jawans of the 161 battalion sustained injuries in the gunbattle that ensued after the attack on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. Four of them were reported to be critical.

Two terrorists were gunned down in the retaliatory firing by CRPF personnel.

However, two other terrorists, who were in car, managed to flee from the spot.

“Two terrorists have been killed. The injured (CRPF personnel) have been admitted to a hospital,” force commandant Rajesh Yadav said.

“The CRPF jawans were returning from firing range practice when the terrorists ambushed their convoy. Jawans retaliated strongly killing two terrorists,” Yadav added.

Reinforcements were rushed to the area soon after the news of the attack broke.

As per CRPF Inspector General Nalin Prabhat, both killed terrorists appeared to be Pakistanis and definitely from Lashkar-e-Toiba. In all likelihood, there were fidayeen (suicide attackers), the IG added.

Arms and ammunition including 2 AK-47 Rifles and 11 hand grenades were recovered from the two killed terrorists.

CRPF Director General Durga Prasad briefed Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the Pampore attack and will travel to Pampore tomorrow with other senior officials.

The Home Minister, meanwhile, expressed deep anguish over the attack on the CRPF convoy.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was pained by the death of CRPF soldiers.

Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju separately said “it's a matter of concern as many jawans were martyred”.

“It's a tragedy. All aspects will be looked into,” Rijiju told reporters in New Delhi.

J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, meanwhile, expressed her condolences “to the families who have lost their loved ones in today’s dastardly militant attack”.

Also today, two terrorists were killed by security forces in an encounter in Baramulla.

Separately, in Shopian, security forces busted a major module of the Hizbul Mujahideen and arrested three militants.

Wani – the face of militancy in the Valley in the past five years -- was wrapped in a Pakistani flag as many militants reportedly showed up at his funeral. (Social Media)
Pakistan condemned on Sunday the killing of a top insurgent and the deaths of 16 Kashmiri protesters in clashes with security forces as fresh waves of violence triggered fears of a resurgence in militancy in the troubled state.

In a statement, Islamabad called the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani “deplorable”, a day after tens of thousands of people showed up at the funeral of the 21-year-old and chanted slogans against the army, police and government.

“Such acts are a violation of fundamental human rights of Kashmiris and can not deter the people of Jammu and Kashmir from their demand for the realisation of the right to self determination,” the Pakistan press release read.

Wani – the face of militancy in the Valley in the past five years -- was wrapped in a Pakistani flag as many militants reportedly showed up at the funeral.

Pakistan also criticised India for detaining top separatist leaders, calling upon India to fulfil its “human rights obligations as well as its commitments under the United Nations Security Council Resolutions”.

Ties between the two countries have been on a roller-coaster ride in recent years, especially on the tricky question of involving separatists in talks over the Kashmir dispute.

In its statement, Pakistan again called for a “fair and impartial” plebiscite under the UN – a stand that India has repeatedly rejected over the years.

You may have your Freedom House and its take on this issue. It does not make any difference. The only thing that makes difference is whats happening on the ground - what the empirical realities of Kashmir are.

Ground Realities: Kashmiris have never accepted Indian dominion on their land and continue to resist it in every way they can. Be it politically or militarily. They perpetually turn up in crowds of tens of thousands despite curfews, house arrests, intimidation, and a host of other oppressive measures to demand their legitimate right of self-determination, proclaim their desire for independence, and to honor their martyrs. This is the real picture of Kashmir and it can't be changed notwithstanding Indian state propaganda or wide-spread denial among majority of Indian populace.
