Building IAF's Fighter Force

At best we can expect around planned time..

Foc "shaky at best " by 2015 December .. Not good to hear..

Without increasing the work force level how can we expect faster development ?

Mk2 building started ?
thing is MK2 project was given go ahead and funds almost 6 months back but is still not disclosed + the new strategy is to make eisting LCA even more poetent with AESA based radar , EW suite and new gen Jammers + PMO & DM are also looking into option of private players making LCA in a separatte assemballyline to buck up the numbers of LCA

many here would laugh at my comment but wait for a month and things will be quite clear :D

How is Tejas mkII available in 2015 as per chart? Is it going to be ready by the end of year, something no one knows about. Or this is another attempt to brag by obfuscate the facts.
@anant_s

Mk 2 LCA is atleast a half a decade late Will be happy to see it inducted by 2020

We need to induct a squadron of tejas every year , and improve with each squadron instead of waiting all the way,,..

By the way it's going I think, it s going very slow or very secretive ..
2015 is the figure for FOC for Tejas (LCA Mk 1).
My point of posting that pic was to compare the platforms side by side, important point being the unit cost.

Mk2 building started ?
No not yet (@SpArK can clarify here).

Are you sure in one month we can have some happiness instead of chronic waiting and frustration ?:(

I have a feeling that IAF will shut down Tejas project and induct Gripens instead. My guess almost 5 years old :D
By 2020 IAF may consists of
Su30MKI,Mig29,Mirages2000,Jaguars,Gripen NG,Mig21 Bison and Rafael

HAL chairman R K Tyagi said his company would build six LCAs by 2016 with an eventual construction rate of 16 aircraft a year. HAL officials estimate that delivery of the first of two Tejas Mk 1 squadrons of 20 aircraft each, ordered by the IAF in 2005, would be completed by 2018.

It's better not to rely on US, Israel, Sweden, French. Just try to make everything on ur own. We had a very bad experience due to relying on others...

why didn't India just buy the rights to produce the Mirage 2000-5 Mk2?? would of saved so much time and energy.

Prior to MMRCA, that was the idea to purchase M2ks, especially in light of performance during Kargil war.
However Public procurement rules and the fact that France had almost closed the asembly lines for Mirage (owing to Rafale production), led to a situation where Open tendering was resorted to, allowing others vendors to bid.

J-10B has AESA. Also, J-10B was not available in 2013. J-10B became available earlier this year with first squadron.
I agree, but the info-graphic doesn't mention J 10B. It merely states availability of J 10A models, which i believe where in service from 2010 onwards (@Chinese-Dragon ).
That said, can u share some info on AESA radar being deployed on J 10B models.

Every time there has been people trying to support certain items or policies for obvious reasons. Back in the times, while the SEPECAT Jaguars were being inducted, Sanjay Gandhi came up with claims that SAAB Viggen was superior to Jags and all that. It has happened before and will happen again.
