Bugti’s son booked for treason

The Sariab police have registered a treason case against Nawabzada Jamil Bugti, son of Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti, for speaking against the army and the government in his press conference last month.

Jamhoori Watan Party information secretary Amanullah Kanrani has expressed concern over registration of the treason case against Nawabzada Bugti.

"The registration of the case is another act of victimisation of the Bugti family," Mr Kanrani said in a statement, adding that the move and operations would not force the Bloch people to give up struggle to protect the coast and resources of Balochistan.

He demanded withdrawal of all fake cases against political leaders and workers and said that instead of using force against the people of Balochistan and hurling threats at them, the government should recognise their legitimate rights over the coast and resources of Balochistan.

Thanks to the millions of those who support military dictators and have made military such a sacred thing that now even talking against army is being considered unpatriotic and individuals are being held on treason charges.

While its ok for army to hang and oust elected prime ministers, wage military disasters, kill its own people, stage coups and take U-turns on every other policy.

Idont understand this. Why has the government and the army become so lofty that speaking against it tentamounts to treason? Hasnt any one heard of freedom of speech.

Speaking against the army is not treason. Calling for attacks on it (which lil Bugti has been charged with), that is. Lahori should keep that in mind.
