Border Security Force yesterday seized eleven kg heroin having street value of Rs 55 crore from two places along the Indo-Pak border in Ferozepur and Amritsar sectors.
Confirming the seizure, a BSF official said nine packets of the drug were seized from a field near the Pul Moran border outpost (BoP) in Amritsar sector, close to Attari border. The drug consignment was pushed to India from Pakistan near Rajatal village. One mobile and a Pakistani sim card was also recovered from the site, BSF Deputy Inspector General of Punjab Frontier R S Kataria said.
In the separate case, two packets of heroin and four sim cards were seized near the D T Mal Border Outpost in Ferozepur sector.
All the 11 packets, each containing one kg of the drug, valued worth Rs 55 crore in international market, the Deputy IG said.
Kataria said that so far no one has been arrested and a probe was on.
The senior official said that till now this year the BSF has recovered more than 207 kg heroin along the International Border area from across the state.

Sick !! RAW should sell it back to Pakistan and use the finances so gained for other productive purpose.

A sad truth we have to accept is that the High end heroine, marijuana that is available in India comprises of Commissions of Pak Rangers and BSF...

Problem arises when we see Institutions like Rangers and BSF as MONOLITHIC.. ( Rangers can never do that and blah blah shit ).. no..they are not monolithic...

There are officers in all forces who try to make a quick buck ( mostly on the pretext of a non satisfactory job)

Pakistan should take drastic steps to stop illegal drug trade.
Pakistan: The Most Heroin-Addicted Country in the World | The Diplomat
Pakistan is already quite deep in the heroin ditch, so to insure this never happens in India BSF should be more ruthless.
Good job BSF.
Actually in Pakistan Heroine users are below 0.5 million,in Pakistan Alcohol is also classified as Drug a Large part of such figure includes Alcohol users.I worked in ANF in past,on both sides of border smuggling is done with the help of Border Guards on both sides+other officials and may be politicians.

I agree drug trafficking is bad across SA and should be stopped! The Opium fields in Afghanistan is the problem which makes me wonder if the Taliban is pro Poppy or not?
Regardless both sides have stake in the welfare of its citizens and both sides have corrupt uniform/politicians involved. Recently I believe perhaps in this decade Pakistan Army and civilian authority has burnt poppy crops on the western areas. This should help but the problem has historically been Afghanistan. If Pakistan's border with Afghanistan is not defined and controlled then any positive step to fight trafficking will be meaningless unless the bulk 80% thats comes out of that place should be stopped even if we can only stop half of it.
Like wise in countries like India and Pakistan, and anti drug campaign should be done in schools and/or madrassas. And law enforcement should get merit for fighting drug wars. This should also weaken the demand.
Another problem I foresee is ISI involvement in this. Not that the ISI is pro drug, but the ISI learned their tricks from the CIA whos drug research is well known. ISI is helping in afghanistan, thanks to American weight. But to ISI/Army, India is the primary threat, and they have refrained from ever issuing statements saying they are NOT involved in Kashmir LET etc.

Good.next catch those scums within BSF and Ranger who support Drug Dealers. Both India and Pakistan should put there egos aside in fighting Drugs.
You mean Chief ministers of both Punjab's. :D

It's a big business and major contributor to party funds.
