Bangladesh needs to further strengthen their Islamic culture and identity, and heavily arm their security forces (whether police, military, border guards). That's the only way hateful india under hindu fascist govt will learn to respect you.

Indian smuggled cows are the reason cattle dairy farming in Bangladesh could not flourish adequately. Still two-third of cow meat consumed in Bangladesh comes from local sources and one-third comes from India. If BSF uniformly imposed border control for cow smuggling throughout the year, then our cattle industry could have flourished, and smuggling would have stopped. But BSF only enforce border intermittently. For example, they permit cow transport in Bangladesh before Eid-ul Azha. Thus cow rearing in Bangladesh is uncertain and risky business and could not flourished to meet the demand entirely by competing with smuggled cows.

Most of the cows smuggled from India comes from Hindi belt states in India where cow slaughter is banned. Smugglers procure them at dart cheap prices there and cross the border with insane amount of profit. I have read that, by just crossing the border, they get 10 times the return. This is the reason many poor people in border areas are desperate to seize this highly lucrative smuggling business and many brave the BSF bullet. Unless BSF and BGB enforce border vigorously throughout the year and without any lax, this menace can not be eradicated completely.

We, in Assam, voted for BJP because of this very reason so that they could settle the decades long boundary disputes that was kept on the backburner by our erstwhile politicians.

We were ready to part with significant amount of land from our state so that the boundary can be properly demarcated and fenced.

India as a secular state that has hundreds of millions of non-Hindus has no right as a government to ban trading of cows. If Hindus don't want to eat cows that is their business.
