They have rules of engagement and we have to assume they were followed unless reasonable doubt exists.

BSF is simply doing its job. Had the lady stopped after being challenged, no harm would have befallen her just like other times when people who have trespassed the border have been repatriated safely.

I must agree with the Pakistani members here. The shooting of this woman should be investigated. Shooting at a person even if they disobey an order to stop is simply reckless. If they deemed her to be such a threat they could have used less lethal force such as shooting her in the leg to paralyze her. Now that it has been uncovered that she was unarmed and posed no threat, what do we do? Say "oops sorry" and carry on ?

Actually this ^ is bullshit.

International border between India and Pakistan is not a children's playground. It is a fenced border. And both countries suffer from terrorism, with a history of terror export from one. How else security personals are to deal with someone who is jumping the fence, a barbed wire fence in the middle of the night and is not responding/cooperating with them?
Is it written on the intruders face that he/she is not a suicide bomber? Or isn't carrying any hidden arms? I suggest you, go to NK/SK border and jump the fence there!

And enemy scream, why not ask the mass murderer Pakistani army why they shell Indian villages and kill innocent Indian villagers? Why they shoot unprovoked on Indian posts? Why they thrust their non-state actors in India under the cover of firing?

If it wasn't the prudence of Indian army to vacate the villagers to safe places, civilian casualties on Indian side would have been lot higher.

And how Pakistanis should react? They should seal the border with India and stop any poacher from jumping the fence. Simple.

there is no way to tell at night if the women was your average bibi bano or some jihadi duktran e millat.. and our soldiers are given shoot at sight order for any intruder who doest obey them if called to halt with arms raised. now if this women was mistakenly shot it is unfortunate incident but if she was shot knowingly pretty well she was unarmed and not a jihadi type then these soldiers need to be court martialed.. that being said it doest matter what Pakistani say our soldiers are not without emotion gun totting radicals like their mujahideens. but they have the responsibility to make india safe and sometimes mistakes happen. I hope Pakistanis will let it go and not think BSF are all butchers
