BSF jawan commits suicide after setting wife afire in JK

JAMMU: A BSF head constable allegedly set his wife on fire and later committed suicide by jumping in front of a train in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.

Neelam Kumar, who was posted in 97 battalion of BSF in Samba district, allegedly murdered his wife Ritu Devi at their home and later set her afire in Seswan in Chadwal area of Kathua district yesterday, they said.

The BSF head constable was found dead at the railway track at Seswan, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kathua, Khaleel Poswal said.

The body of Ritu, reportedly Kumar's third wife, was found in a semi-burnt condition near the house of the BSF jawan, he said.

The police officer said Ritu had made a complaint against her husband with the BSF authorities alleging that he was not paying her maintenance.

According to police, Kumar has another wife serving in the police department at Bakshi Nagar in Jammu. The couple also has two children.

The police will record her statement to investigate the case thoroughly.

The first wife of the deceased BSF jawan was murdered 20 years ago by his elder brother, who also later committed suicide, the officer said.

Kumar and Ritu were living together since last 7-8 years, he said.

Reading such news saddened me but the same time shows some facts.

Accused had a history of emotional bursts which led him to marry three times.
Criminal nature / mentality throughout his family, his brother murdered his first wife.
Suicidal tendency in family since his brother did the same thing after killing his brother's wife.

Such character should not be allowed in security forces and could be identified by psychologist during initial interviews.

Jammer Mia, you know why ISRO succeded ? We Chose to do OPPOSITE of what you are doing on this forum for the past 10 years. And still going strong.

If you had a blog about science and invested even half your energy to do something better, given your abilities to search and find relevant info, im sure it would have made a huge difference for the young minds following you. But what have you given them ? Selective News that somehow says something negative about India ?

Does this help in building more scientist or engineers or mathematics in your country ? Sadly No.

There is nothing wrong in your approach. But thats one of the two options.

We always have two options to win. But We as Indians tend to choose.. to focus... make efforts n...draw a Bigger Line rather making efforts to shorten the opponent's line !

Suparco vs ISRO is one such Example.
If thats far fetched....You got to think why your Top Nuclear Scientist .. Father of the Islamic Bomb...endorsed Water Car Engineer !
