The Border Security Force in Gujarat on Monday arrested a Pakistani national who was allegedly trying to infiltrate into Indian territory from the Kutch-Pakistan border. The Pakistani national was spotted by the BSF jawans posted at the Vigho Kot in Kutch, the last point of the land border between India and Pakistan. The BSF officials in Kutch confirmed that the Pakistani national crossed the Pakistan border and reached the fencing between the India-Pakistan border and tried to cross the boundary.
A senior officer from BSF Bhuj said, “The BSF jawaans who were foot patrolling in the area saw one person walking towards the fencing and shouted at him. He, however, kept walking towards Indian side of the border stubbornly after which more jawans rushed to the spot.
The jawaans caught hold of him and brought him to the Vigho Kot border outpost”. The Pakistani national was identified as Himmat Gul Hussain (40) and found to be mentally unstable after the BSF officials started questioning him. The BSF officials stated that nothing harmful or suspicious was found from him. After the primary interrogation the BSF officials handed him over to Kutch police.
The Nara police station that supervises the border area took the Pakistani national in their custody. Sub-Inspector Subhash Sharma of Nara police station said, “He looked mentally ill and his clothes were also torn. We have taken him to nearby government hospital for medial check up. He appears to be mentally ill but we cannot confirm whether he is mentally ill medically or not. The doctors will give us a certificate after performing the necessary tests on him”. He added, “He is only talking about his name and hasn’t spoken a single word besides that. We will however interrogate him thoroughly after his medical tests get over”.
