Hello guys!

What do you think about the BriteCloud decoy option for use by Pakistani F-16s. Seems inexpensive but effective!. RAF is using it on their typhoons.

The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has disclosed the first trials of the BriteCloud expendable active decoy (EAD) from a Royal Air Force (RAF) Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4 multirole fighter.

The MoD announced on 23 May that the first such trials took place in the United Kingdom in April. A total of 33 BriteCloud 55 rounds (launched from existing 55 mm flare dispensers) were dispensed from fighters flown by the RAF’s 41 Test and Evaluation Squadron against a range of representative radio-frequency (RF)-guided threats.

Further BriteCloud trials are now planned in support of operational testing and validation. An initial operating capability on the RAF’s Typhoons is planned for later in 2019

A nice concept but this is a relatively new product and the Brits have only started to test it. It's better to wait and let the technology mature, or wait for the Chinese to come up with an alternative solution.

Why doesn't Pakistan develop its own weapons solutions

This should be relatively easy to develop. Basically needs a test range. Also, for the JFT, where can these be mounted? Perhaps somewhere along where the vertical tail meets the fuselage.

For legacy missiles yes but against latest missiles like pl -15, meteor etc not so much

While more people are talki g about it now, its not entirely new. Infact @Bilal Khan (Quwa) and I had discussed this a 2-3 years back as part of potential electronics package for JF-17 blk 3 package centered around RAVEN ES-05, Britecloud DRFM, and Skyward-G IRST. Such a system would be a huge sale for Selex and would likely be the single largest sale of electronics for selex. But this was all wishful thinking.

Simply because we have never paid attention to our industrial base and education system. But now with the inauguration of Project Azam we are hopeful things will turn out for the better.
