Will there be a strong possibility Indonesia will invade Malaysia in the near future when it becomes stronger? Indonesia is upgrading its military, especially the navy rapidly.
Amongst the Indonesian they want to be the SE hegemon. They feel malaysia is the challenger standing in her way.

I don't think this will happen, Malaysia and Indonesia are on good relationship now, and they have abandoned the so called Nusantara nation dream. In the unlikely event that they want to invade, the five power defence agreement will be a strong deterrence .

Their military venture in East Timor is a lesson not to be forgotten.

However, I agreed with you Indonesia have the ambition of wanting to be the leader in South East Asia, politically and militarily. Their ambition might be achieved but not by means of war though, rather more on economic power.

Yes i believe Indonesia will defacto be the leader of SEA. Judging by it's sheer size. However, we never know when or if a conflict might erupt , just like Malaysia never expected the Lahad Datu standoff with the Philippines militants invasion of that region and backing by Filipinos government in the beginning.
