what if MPs from both parties decides - to hell with it,
and go to election promising to say nay to leaving the EU?

nothing will happen if they promise to stay in the eu. thing of it like the us elections and why a large amount of people voted for trump. immigration being the largest factor + a few nutters. most people did not know what they even voted for.

It will pass comfortably in commons.. as they will be potentially opposed by lib dem(9) + snp(54) + plaid cymru(3) + sdlp(3) + green (1) = 70 (out of 650 total MPs)
How many disgruntled labour and conservatives will defy the party whip? Not even half will help.
The real challenge will be in house of lords where they got tonnes of lib dems and unelected europhiles of conservative and labour variety.

Unless Britain signs a FTA with US, China and India, signing some $100 million deal with Turkey makes no difference.

Unfortunately May has disappointed since taking over as PM.

I understand US and China in there with over $10 trillion economies but India is nothing compared to them. You could have said fta with US, China, and Japan.

Anyways as some mentally incapable people said, we are not buying fighters like India does from every country known to man, this is for assistance from BAE as a main partner for TAI who is going to produce the a fighter jet.

FTA are already on the way with the US, Japan, China, Singapore, Saudia Arabia, Turkey, the UAE our brothers from CANZ, and that's just the start.

Any MP that votes no will probably not be an MP by the end of the next election !

Good post, but the house has already said they won't block it, they may ask for amendments. However May already has another trick up her sleeve i.e. the making of hundreds of pro-brexit peers lol.

Its not hate. I could care less. You brought it up so I said. I doubt Indian companies are the largest private employers, I dont have statistics but even if it is, its because of Indian companies buying Jaguar Land Rover etc, which was British companies before and they already had factories there.

I have no doubt UK puts alot of importance on India, it wants India in its sphere, be it linguistically, culturally or by another method. (English, Cricket, Indian Law based on English law etc)

Brexit will harm UK in the long run, yes, in short term, Brexit may stop low end jobs from going out of UK, but overall the UK economy will loose its competitive edge. FTA's are not that simple to form. You give something in exchange to get access to others' market. What is UK going to give in exchange to access large markets such as US, China or India's? I say the hardest part is not leaving EU, but what UK will give in return to FTA's with other large markets.

Largest private employer, what? Can you provide figures for this. As Jaguar employees 38,000 and TATA in the whole of Europe has 26,000, that's less than the UK John Lewis Partnership alone.
As for being the top three investor, here are the latest figures;

Protectionist policies are never good for any economy. UK is not some exception. Brexit will harm UK in the long run, yes, in short term, Brexit may stop low end jobs from going out of UK, but overall the UK economy will loose its competitive edge. FTA's are not that simple to form. You give something in exchange to get access to others' market. What is UK going to give in exchange to access large markets such as US, China or India's? The UK is not being protectionist, where did you get this from? We are opening up to the world. How will the UK lose its competitive edge?
