So the Serbian member who think China would be in deep trouble is extremely far from the truth. India and Japan are also far from being part of the Great Power category. Had Russia still treated China as an enemy after 1991, it would have been in a worse shape in the years to come. Back then Russia made the correct decision by improving ties with the most influential country of the future which many seemed to look down in the 90s all the way to the 2010. Therefor it's undeniable that China is the lifeline of Russia. China benefits greatly having Russia watching its back is also true, but to speculate that China would be in a terrible shape having some other powers against her is totally unfounded.

And Russia is lifeline for China in geopolitical arena.
Without Russia, or with Russia as an enemy, China would have 5 great powers in the world against her.
US, EU, Russia, India and Japan.
And with that balance of power you would be smashed harder then in WW2. There would be a new partition of China.

So I agree, you bribe Russia to be at least neutral in world geopolitical arena.

We don't even need to bribe Russia. Let me ask you , even the extreme hostility of American towards Russia. What choice do Russia have? The American always have the master and slave attitude towards other countries. If China didn't conclude the USD 400billion deal plus given the US sanction against Russia. Russia can never survive the onslaught from US alone.

China is very well protected. Please do not worry so much for China. China is the world factories which is the very reason to keep many developed countries low cost of living. The western may bark and cost problem for China, end of the day. If China really collapse. The western do know the consequences. The excellent infrastructure and massive well developed supply chain plus hardworking Chinese worker that can work harder but taking a much lower paid compare to western counterpart is not going to replicate easily in just few years from other countries if China collapse. Plus China huge population is a massive cashcow for western world to earn cash.

This can't be say for Russia whose economy is not well connected to rest of the world and it's so small despite Russia country size. If Russia economy is out of the picture. Do you think the rest of the world will shed a year? Especially, oil and gas is getting more and more irrelevant with rise of renewable energy and electric vehicle.

Lets not forget the US has never stopped targeting Russia. The US refuses to negotiate START II with Russia, pulled out of the INF treaty, places defense missile system in Eastern Europe surrounding Russia. The Baltic States are now part of NATO just as the majority of the Eastern Bloc. Right after pulling out of the INF treaty, the US immediately tested the new system which would have been in violation. We can conclude the US would be deploying this new system in Europe pointing at Russia. There's so much evidence that the US policy is to strike Russia if the opportunity arrives. Why else would the US refuse to negotiate with Russia on new treaties including cyber security? With so much hostility from US and Europe who are forced to comply with US orders by hosting these missiles directing at Russia, Russia would be feeling its neck choked if it remained in bad terms with China. Russia's economy would not be doing fine today, so yes Russia can have some peace of mind with China backing it on economic terms and on the geopolitical front.
