reason I mentioned Asma Jhangir is that she is so much blinded by hatred for the Pak military that 16 Dec school massacre meant nothing for her actually she must have enjoyed the news ...and she waited for few months and then lodged a stay order in supreme court to suspend the military court verdicts

and Pakistani judiciary and lawyers are known terrorist supporters if anyone has doubts then check their verdicts and the way they end off the known terrorists. this way this Ch Iftikhar affected judiciary settles its scores with army.

against the army this is a real bastardized alliance of so called liberals and (selective) human rights activists where the beneficiaries are those that kill people of Pakistan out of habit.

thankfully the drone strike was out of the jurisdiction of our pathetic judiciary.

I mean the courts that are entertaining complaints from terrorists against Musharraf for conducting raids on those who declared war on Pakistan.. wow. Only in Pakistan.

Happens everywhere. The courthouses are meant to be a place of justice for all under the sun. Doesn't mean that every Tom, Dick and Harry who walks in there gets justice though. The courts have issued some regrettable verdicts, mostly because of loopholes in the law...which is the Parliament's job, but i'm not going to get into that.

Recently when Asma Jahangir was in the SC barking in favour of the terrorists, trying to win over the court's sympathy to revoke the authority of the military courts, the AG of Pakistan and his team had a projector set up on which they played videos of army jawans being slaughtered by the barbarians. The court was shell-shocked and there was pin-drop silence as the AG's team played back to back videos of beheadings, speeches, head-football, anti-Pakistan hate propaganda.....

They concluded by asking the court whether it still thought these people were 'humans' and deserved to be treated as such. It was one hell of a day at the Supreme Court.

The thing is, as an organ of the state it is the court's duty to protect its citizens and that duty is indispensable. Without justice, society disintegrates. If people are going missing, it is the court's duty to ensure they are not being picked up without cause. They can't side-step the constitution in favour of army rule. But they have no issue with the army doing it and covering their tracks. They simply throw such petitions out for lack of evidence. The issue is partly with the army itself as well. They need somebody to better teach them how to avoid legal trouble. I don't blame them, it's not their job to study the law. They need lawyers for that. It might please you to know that the army has begun to understand that, and do actually have a team of legal-eagles. But that's a recent development and still in its formative years.
