Breaking News : Afghan Army starts operation against TTP

Time after time terrorists have shown that they are capable of orchestrating deadly attacks on both sides of the Af/Pak borders. We have come a long way in our shared fight against terrorism, and it remains imperative for us to stand united in order to negate the growing threat of terrorism. The terrorists have been taking advantage of the long and rugged mountainous border between Afghanistan and Pakistan to orchestrate their terrorist activities in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The common threat of terrorism that lies on both sides of the border requires shared coordination and assistance between the regional partners. These efforts to uproot the terrorist elements from near the common border serve in the best interests of Afghanistan and Pakistan, and we remain fully optimistic in regards to seeing peace prevail throughout the region.

Paf & gunship helis should help Afghan army with on going ground ops against rented ttp. The fact is I don't trust Afghan army & her intel agencies as they have been aiding enemies of Pakistan. I am sure even PA is aware of this & they don't trust them.

Guys ....Someone has twisted the news ...This I have seen on the BBC days earlier ...there was an operation in the same area Dangam before the incident of 16th December and the Afghani force commander over there was accusing that the talibans are speaking punjabi and from the the Pak army and bla bla bla ...just like the followers of Amrullah Saleh do in the Kabul. Getting Fazlullah would not be that easy, I must say ...He is at large since the Operation Peochar and has never been successfully traced so far...that means to 'someone' is really protecting him hard just like 'someone' was protecting Latifullah Mehsud. By the way ...keep in mind the option of an air lift from Kunar to Farkhor Air Base !

Glad that General Sharif's emergency visit to Kabul and stern request has yielded results. It will be a good progress when Mullah "FM" Fazlullah is either killed, or handed to us alive.

It looks like Raheel Shareef's "stern" warning has forced Ghani to start operation against in TTP....But thats not the case, the operation is primarily against Afghan taliban and pakistani group LET who supports Afghan taliban in kunar as well as target TTP. In the official statements, it will be mentioned that TTP is also targated but on the ground pakistani assets like Afghan taliban and LET will be targated. There is an international outrage against Peshawer attack so its the appropiate time for Afghan governament to start their operation in kunar, which was planned much earliar.

And also, this Kunar and Nuristan was handed over to TTP on a platter by uncle sam, which thrives on violence all over the world. These provinces were fully under control by Nato and the locals aren't even Pashtuns, yet as soon as Swat operation was launched, Nato abandoned its bases, and TTP from Swat and Dir moved in.

If Afghanistan is serious in this matter, then Pakistan should reciprocate by aiding a dialogue between Afghan Taliban/Haqqani network and the Afghan government.

Already that dialogue happened if you have the seen the statement issued by uncle SAM that they won't be targeting MULLHA UMAR any more?
That's why ANA went in to clear whatever it can & deney the land to the lords of war , once been used by the international establishment against AFGHAN-Taliban's +ISI -PAKISTAN equation ?
ISAF is the driving force behind ANA these days & after succsesfull US visit of genrl RAHEEL SHARIF , they are co-opreating PAKARMY well?

TTP has issued statements in the past that LET is attacking them in Kunar and is using name of Afghan Taliban. LET has indeed presence in Kunar province. there were also reports of their fighters getting killed in ISAF airstrikes in Kunar. Also LET itself was formed in Kunar province in 1990 (with base in Mureekay near Lahore), so they have some operational base in some villages of kunar, with support from local Wahabi/ahle-hadith elements.

Kunar and Nuristan are not controlled by TTP , the two provinces are under shadow governors of Afghan Taliban, they are the most numerous and powerful ones. Afghan Taliban are the ones who have allowed TTP as well as LET in the region, even though both groups are enemies of each other but they are supporting Afghan taliban in their war against Afghan and NATO forces.
