Breaking monopoly: Volkswagen to plant its feet in Pakistan?

Oh yeah this is one good news.Local assembled so called toyota, suzuki and honda cars are damn expensive here and the quality is also compromised. We are paying 18-19 lakh for a toyota car but the price simply does not worth it ,for example.
Now the volkswagen is coming but we want to make sure that the quality will be same and it should be exactly like a car made in germany.

Just a thought: What will happen if Chinese car makers decide to sell or assemble cars in Pakistan?
Toyota, Honda & Suzuki cars are made in Pakistan and they are cartels here in their field.

They are making cars but not successful become of quality and cost, Cherry QQ, Changan, got little success but they were not built here and importer could not bring price down.

FAW is making Chinese cars but as I said before price and quality make them unaffordable for people although FAW has success in truck market here.

they make Chinese vehicles in Pakistan.

any update on the news? Did Volkswagen finally come to Pakistan?

ISLAMABAD: The incumbent government has gotten a rare opportunity to break the decades’ old monopoly of local car assemblers as world-renowned auto manufacturer, Volkswagen, is keen to introduce its brands in Pakistan.

I've been writing about this topic (and taking shiit from haters since), glad to see this working out. Its not just VW, Audi, Renault and Ford will join later too. Pakistan is a 200 million people's market. Over a 100 million vehicles are estimated to be needed in the next 15 years. Who wants to let go of that piece of the sweet pie??

so far its local investors working with Chinese FW and previous local investor restarting his korea based manufacturing/assembly, no new entrance is expected beyound this

No. And no.

Just as I said.

No new entrant can manufacture cars inside Pakistan and make a viable business case out of it, given the present state and future trends. Not one.

What would you call a country that is trillion dollar economy but not wants to see it?

If the policy makers in Pak put their act together and execute a 15yrs plan with zeal...you would see Pak turning into a major economic power in the region... all in all this good country has the potential to become an economy that is bigger than Germany of today...perhaps not in quality but in quantity.

All that is needed now is a medium and long term plan fully endorsed by the establishment...then execution by the elected gov every five years without deviations...

It is upto Pak gov to waste this...but things are moving in the right direction. With CPEC many manufacturing giants will entre the scene...it is the question of time now.

Only fly in the soup is the hindu sponsored terrorism in Pak lands...this must be crushed at all costs. China is fully onboard on this one.
