Breaking monopoly: Volkswagen to plant its feet in Pakistan?

the problem here is we are right hand driving country not much options for us other wise we have so much beauty on roads

I don't think it costs that much for manufacturers to build the steering wheel in both directions. Look at how many companies build cars in the UK. Most of their cars get exported inside the EU (right hand drive), and just few are used in the UK itself, or exported to India/Pakistan etc. It's not so much a cost thing. But Pakistan has a growing population of 200 million people. If the economy grows, and trade with India is opened up, there will be plenty of room for both countries to build and export cars. (sure India will be the bigger one but that's logical)

i truly acknowledge the importance of this development. but doesnt this add to the list of monopolists (honda and toyota) controlling the automobile industry who prevent any local firm from entering this industry. i mean look at Adam motors, both of these firms colluded to kick it out of business

How nice it would be for Pakistanis to be able to walk into a VW dealership anywhere in that country, and walk out with a Polo/PoloGT/CrossPolo, Vento, Jetta, Passat, Touareg etc.? Rubbish from the likes Suzuki, Toyota, and Honda, need to be shown the boot.
