Breaking: High-valued Punjab Government Forming locked in very intense & tough battle

I said this before. Exactly, but these blind ignorant people can never understand this. When you grow up most of your life in the US, your native tongue will not perfect and some of my cousins don’t even speak Urdu at all. I am lucky enough to have a decent grasp on Urdu, and basic Pakhto skills without the compromise on my English when I have grown most of my life here. I knew this Pakistani Shia girl few years ago who didn’t speak Urdu at all and she was a immigrant here later than I was. Like you say ethnicity and Languages are two different things. If an African grow up in US, but doesn’t speak his native language—he is still African. Like said, I know some of my language(s). I would also like to add.. Yo quiero saber que estos residentes Pakistanis hablan español. —You probably understand this. Basic Spanish, a lot of people’s in US know this LOL

Ma sha Allah, good job for your parents for teaching you Urdu and Pukhto. This widens one's horizons considerably. Since both of us are native English speakers, we have the combined knowledge of both the English speaking world and Pakistan at our fingertips. Many people don't appreciate this. Being in the US, we should read about the Native Americans and Blacks in this country and what they went through to understand the psychology of Americans. Then we can portray the real face of this society to our countrymen, some of whom still idolize secularism and the capitalistic godless lifestyle.

I'm glad that you care about Pakistan. We need Pakistani patriots from all over the world to bring their insight and struggles to our newly rejuvenated country. In sha Allah.

Allama Iqbal and Quaid e Azam were both Westernized Pakistanis living overseas. They came back to Pakistan with a vision. We have to understand the West and the reasons for their rise, this is the only way we can grab our own destiny as Muslims.

Every pukhtoon lowers his head to ghilzais that’s a fact.

No one is abusing you due to your ethnicity but your foolish and sectarian posts, why bring ethnicity in to it this thread is about seats and trying to gain seats.

Imran is not a pushtoon mr Niazi is a Punjabi and he refers to himself as punjabi and so he should as he was born there and lived and grew up there.

When did I bring ethnicity into this thread? Show me ONE POST of mine!! It is the other users who were ridiculing me on my Pakhtun ethnicity and kept calling me fake. I didn’t even talk about ethnicity even ONCE until those Iblees brought it up. All of them now have a duty of Tawbah upon them, for abusing me.

The last paragraph of your is very astonishing. It is very amazing how the best Pakistani leaders/idealists were actually Westerners who came back to Pakistan. This certainly puts us two in the equation as we are Westerner Pakistanis. Imran Khan is a fine example of one too. In Islam, ignorance and Jahiliyyat is very much hated by Allah Subhana wa Ta’ala. I would like to conclude, these people think they are doing something good by abusing me and causing distress to me, but in actuality they are exact the opposite of it. Shame on them!

PTI still four short of magical figure in NA

ISLAMABAD:

Getting a simple majority in the 342-seat National Assembly has become an uphill task for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as despite all-out efforts the party, which emerged as the biggest political force of the country in July 25 polls, is still far off from reaching the magical figure of 172.

At the moment, the PTI – even if it musters the support of smaller allied parties including the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) and independents and adds candidates on reserved seats – has 168 seats and is four members short of a simple majority in the lower house of parliament.

Interestingly on the day of voting for the election of the next prime minister, the number 168 will further reduce to 161 given the fact that all those MNAs-elect belonging to ruling coalition who have won multiple seats will have to retain only one seat and vacate the other ones.

PML-Q to hold talks with PTI at Bani Gala today, sources claim

Article 91 of the Constitution describes criteria to elect a prime minister. Its subsection 4 says: “Prime Minister shall be elected by the votes of the majority of the total membership of the National Assembly.”

The total membership of the National Assembly is 342 and majority can be attained by securing the support of 172 MNAs. Currently, the PTI has 160 votes in total. However, it does not mean that if one fails to get a simple majority, they cannot become the prime minister.

“Provided that, if no member secures such majority (simple majority) in the first poll, a second poll shall be held between the members who secure the two highest numbers of votes in the first poll and the member who secures a majority of votes of the members present and voting shall be declared to have been elected as Prime Minister,” subsection 4 further reads.

The current situation suggests that prime minister in waiting for Imran Khan will not be able to secure a simple majority. However, he will be elected by securing ‘majority of votes of the members’ who will be present in the House on voting day.

PTI

According to provisional results available with the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) website, the PTI has won 116 seats. Four independent MNAs – one from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and three from Punjab – have so far joined the party putting its total to 120.

The PTI will be able to get roughly 25 reserved seats for women in the National Assembly – 15 from Punjab, seven from K-P and three from Sindh. The PTI is also expected to get some four seats reserved for minorities in the lower house. It brings the party’s total strength to 149 seats.

Allied parties

The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) on Monday pledged its all-out support for the PTI at the Centre and in Punjab also. The PML-Q has four seats.

The PTI is also in talks with the MQM. Even if the MQM becomes an ally of the PTI, collectively all the coalition partners including the MQM-P will be able to bring 19 more seats.

Among allied partners, the MQM tops the chart with six seats while it will also be allotted a seat reserved for women. So collectively the MQM-P will add seven to the grand total.

The Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) has four seats while it will also be given a seat reserved for women. So BAP will have a total of five seats. The Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) has two seats, while Sheikh Rashid’s Awami Muslim League has one seat. It will take the grand total to 168.

PTI in lead to form govt in Punjab as nine independent MPAs-elect join party

Following one MNA one vote formula for the PM’s election, this number will be drop to 161 – as the PTI chief Imran Khan will vacate four seats, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Tahir Sadiq and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi one seat each.

Some 13 MNAs from across the country are elected as independents. Four of them have already joined the PTI while nine have yet to take decisions. If all of those nine independents announce to join PTI, the number will scale up to 170, still short of two votes to get a simple majority.

To gain a simple majority, the PTI has also initiated talks with Balochistan National Party (BNP) that has won three seats. According to a statement, senior PTI leader Jahangir Khan Tareen on Monday telephoned Akhtar Mengal and invited him to join the coalition government.

“Mengal has promised that he will hold talks with PTI leadership in the coming days,” reads the statement

Can somebody please elaborate this point as well :

The current situation suggests that prime minister in waiting for Imran Khan will not be able to secure a simple majority. However, he will be elected by securing ‘majority of votes of the members’ who will be present in the House on voting day.

As per my understanding, on second voting , IK will become PM because PTI will have more candidates in the assembly because of their reserved quote of women and minorities. But at the same time, PML-N and PPP joint quota will be there as well which will fell short against PTI led alliance. Or there is something which I am missing ?
