Turkey is recalling its ambassadors to Washington and Tel Aviv, and declaring 3 days of mourning to commemorate Palestinians killed by Israeli forces, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced late Monday.

Speaking in London, Erdoğan said, as the Rotating Chairman of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), he will chair an extraordinary meeting on Friday regarding the Palestinian deaths and called on the United Nations Security Council to gather for an emergency meeting.

Gaza experienced its bloodiest massacre since 2014 on Monday, as the Israeli military killed at least 52 Palestinians and wounded more than 2,400 others as protesters streamed to the frontier for the climax of a six-week demonstration as the United States prepared to open its embassy in Jerusalem.

Earlier in the day, the Foreign Ministry had also strongly condemned the attacks in a written statement.

"We curse the massacre carried out by Israeli security forces encouraged by this step on the Palestinians participating in peaceful demonstrations. Neither regional nor global peace and stability will be viable unless the Palestinian question is settled through a lasting and just solution and unfair treatments towards Palestinian people cease," the statement said.

"We strongly condemn the decision of the U.S. Administration to move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem violating international law and all relevant UN Resolutions. We reiterate that this action is legally null and void," it added.

The Foreign Ministry once more emphasized that the U.S. move "disregards the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people" and "will not serve peace, security and stability in the region."

Protests in Istanbul/Taksim square.

There will be a massive protest in Yenikapı/Istanbul at Friday, according to Erdogan.

Good move by Turkey, every country in the region should follow through. US is playing a horrible role in this conflict which greatly tarnishes it image in the region and they need to get the message it is not appreciated.

Stop going off topic. You are weird, this is an international forum and you're treating it like some republican forum... your mind is still stuck decades ago with Japan .... Japan and the US are modern allies .... Quit bringing that up ....

I'm weird? Heck this is a Pakistani forum. We talk weird shit all the time. In this case, we talking about how many Palestinians have been killed compare to none on the Israelis, so that makes Israel look bad. Same for many other conflicts where judging casualties is the best way to point who is the good guy and the bad. Or whose fault it is.

This isn't your traditional conflict, it's modern day colonialism. Everyone can see it for what it is. As for @GiannKall
he was no suggesting what you are, rather exposing the absurd insinuations that make it appear like Israeli's were getting bombarded with F16's ....

Occupation ongoing in West Bank, besiegement of Gaza ongoing, Israeli leader announcing Israel will annex East Jerusalem too which is supposed to be the Palestinian capital in a future two state solution.... Your country has basically spat on the Arab peace initiative, UN , and even ironically US proposed deal. Now you are angering Muslims with these threats to bomb the third holiest mosque and build some temple that never existed there in place of it. Honestly you guys are losing sanity because of US backing. That's not a clever approach.

These are ordinary civilians, and they want the demonstration to remain peaceful. So the world can observe that Palestinians are dealing with a ruthless occupier. And pressure it to make peace and withdraw from occupied territories. Also if the Palestinian military factions respond, they won't blame them and acknowledge what led up to it.
well my statement is still right. you cant excpect from us to let gazans cross the border without premission. are you from the west bank ? do you work in israel ?
im just saying if gaza would be smart they will wait for greater powers to do thier job.
sad outcome . hamas is playing with pepole lives.

Its not about getting bombarded by F-16s. You know about the Intifadah or previous conflicts between the Palestinians and the Israelis that cause deaths on both sides. Palestinians can kill Israelis without being conventional about it. You got Hamas and other groups taking advantage of the rage of the Palestinians.

You should align yourselves with the Arabs as you are Arab yourself, I don't think this state is representative of Arab Jews. I think Arab Jews should get citizenship from their original nations and relocate there now that there is more educated population .... Anyway blame largely lies on Israel, there's no way all those thousands of people hit by gunfire and those killed were justified. These demonstrations wouldn't be happening if there was no Israeli military presence in the West Bank or a siege of Gaza. It would be a peaceful environment. It hurts your argument when that isn't the case....

I'm American and not from West Bank, originally from modern day central Israel....

It's about that guy painting Israeli's as the victims on this day ... go back and read the thread ....

Can anyone tell me what the palestinians achieved today?

Can you tell us what Jews whom tried escaping concentration camps but failed and were killed in the process achieved ? You have flawed logic ....

You do realise Israel is under no obligation to have an open border with Gaza? what right have Gazans to enter Israel?

It will be a great pre- election campaign it seems... Another topic Arap Erdo will use to boost his votes before important elections.

Some time ago when opening the third bridge over the Bosphorus him and his butt lickers were belly dancing and playing musical instruments a day after we had a dozen martyrs in a PKK attack... then nobody in the Government of Turkey even thought of respecting our fallen heroes but now for a bunch of Palestinians the country will mourn for 3 days. Pathetic.

ps Expect tomorrow Turkish lira to fall to 4,40- 4,45 against the USD. :D

It's their land
That's their right dic-ck head.

Israel is recognised as a sovereign nation. The land next to Gaza is considered by the international community to be Israeli sovereign land.

The palestinians have about as much right to it as Brazilians or the French.

Just like when Hitler gassed your grandma? I'm sure that was legal too in Germany.

She clearly died for nothing judging by her progeny.
