If you compare us physically with other animals, you'd wonder why we are at the top of the food chain.

Investing in brain power was risky from a evolutionary point of view, no other animal takes 15+ years to fully mature, it's either adapt or die. It's a wonder we survived long enough to reap its dividends, our social interactions courtesy of the brain played a major role in that.

In selecting to further our thinking capacity other avenues to strengthen other body parts were discarded. It's up to the brain now to think of ways to save this eggshell of a body.
