Article says Kolkata has 32 SAM for defence. That is wrong.

Kolkata carries 64 VLS for SAM. 48 Barak -8 and 16 Barak-1.

It carries 16 Brahmos.

So a total of 80 VLS as compared with 90 in Burk fligh 1 and 96 in Burk Mk 2 & 3.

Since he admits Barak-8 is superior, that makes Kolkata superior to Burk.

Kolkata carries 32 VLS for B-8 and 16 Brahmos total 48 vls

Show me where are the 64 VLS for SAMs on Kolkata? There are plenty of pics of Kolk on the net.

Kolkata has only 32 VLS for SAMs. It however is said to carry 64 missiles, remaining 32 as reloads for
the VLS cells.

Kolkata carries NO Barak-1 missiles at all. Visual proof is there.

i think barak 8 can be increase to 64 there is enough space

though i would like to see >>>>>16 nirbhay and 16 Advanced Air Defence (AAD) as sam/bdm role

I was misled by Wiki.

Why does it say 64 Barak ? ...... maybe there is something to the Rumour about reloading another 32 at sea.

There are talks that Even Brahmos MK 1 in itself do Mach 5 with new fuel developed in russia and some drag reducing coatings. Brahmos Mk2 speed increased from 2.0 Mach to 3.5 mach.

Fuel alone cant increase speed by that percentage.
