Former England batsman and cricket commentator Geoffrey Boycott revealed his World XI, which only featured only one Pakistani and no Indian players.

Talking at a private function in Mumbai, the former right-handed batsman said that he will pick 1992 World Cup winning captain Imran Khan as the leader of the playing eleven, which features the likes of Australian greats Sir Don Bradman, West Indian greats Sir Garfield Sobers and Sir Vivian Richards.

Imran Khan lays out three-point solution to reform Pakistan cricket

The 70-year-old said that he chose Imran as the leader of the pack as ‘Imran was strong and could handle the players’.

Boycott further said that he cannot pick Indian players just to please the audience, but admitted that even he himself would not be able to get into a line-up full of stars of the yesteryears.

Imran urges India for a cricket series with Pakistan

“I can’t pick Indians just to please you,” Boycott told the audience. “I can’t get in the team myself. Kapil Dev was a wonderful bowler and so was Ian Botham, but I can’t put them ahead of Sobers. If you want me to be nice because I am in India I would pick five Indians, but that’s not me.”

As far as I remember there were no good cricketers in India they used to play weak teams in 80's or play on dead pitches in their own area

Routinely they ranked in bottom 2-3 , Tandulkar had record or something of scoring 100 on losing team
lot of great contest vs Srilanka (who were not that great in 80's)

Australia also were quite weakling

West Indies used to Dominate cricket untill they decided to change the laws a bit i.e remove the bouncer and other lethal options bowlers had to keep cricketers in check

Like he said the players who he picked could play in any environment , and succeed.

Pakistan Only has about 4-5 World class Level players to offer for selection choice

Imran Khan - Wasim Akram - Waqar Younis - Inzimam - Younis Khan - Miandad - Misbah

If he only selected Imran Khan it is his choice as he seen lot of cricketers

Strangely in old record books many older Pakistani bowlers used to take 8-9 wickets in Test game , yet their name is never mentioend in any discussion

However the Pakistani Team is sucking big time vs Australia , just wonder why they did not bothered to arrange 2-3 Practice matches in Australia to warm up

Is he pissed off england being beaten in India left right and center?

Geoffrey Boycott is one of the best players, commentators and analysts in the world of cricket. I do agree with his XI which makes total sense.

He is a boring cricket batsman ,but a good commentator.

Well he was a test cricketer so being boring is natural but as long as he stayed and scored enough that his side won, that's good enough.

I think he spoke out of political correctness and just admitted that Indian males are just...

Best left unsaid.. :D

I wish I grew up in IK's time when he was playing cricket - our generations will never know what it was like. I have not even seen the world cup final when we won :(

I watched the final live but only remember some wining memories like the catch Ramiz Raja took which I think ended the English innings and Pakistan won the world cup.

His name isnt boycott for nothing...and this time..he is boycotting Indians..haha!

Until recently I didn't even know RR was a cricketer, I always thought he is a very commentator lol I miss watching Wasim, Waqar and Shoaib - something I can cherish from my childhood, though then I didn't even know how many balls are there in one over, always had to ask my dad or chachu lol
