Well, the stage is set for one of the biggest middleweight championship of all time, Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady "GGG" Golovkin. I'm pretty excited about this match, this Saturday is going to be a good day for some bloody noses.

I hope GGG wins.

37/0, 33 knockout victories. GGG is literally the definition of a legend.

Nice and a gentlemen with destructive power in the ring.

He has fought ~400 fights in his boxing life (amateur+professional)...and have never been knocked down.

Totally unheard of in boxing world.

GGG is 35 years old now...Canelo is young and peak of his life at 27

Hopefully GGG knocks out Canelo!

I'll be rooting for GGG because Canelo, well actually Oscar De LaHoya, has been ducking GGG forever. He even dropped his WBC belt instead of facing his mandatory GGG, even after saying "Mexican's don't F$#$# around". Big embarrassment for Mexican boxing! The only reason Canelo/De LaHoya is actually getting in the ring with GGG is because of all the fan pressure and probably because GGG is 35yrs old and looked average in his last fight against Jacobs.
GGG will have to knock out Canelo because a Vegas decision will go to Canelo no matter how GGG performs.

Rooting for GGG however this gonna be a war. We all love war !

My bet was on Golovkin, but Canelo seems to be improving exponentially over the last few fights... I think the match will depend on if Canelo can take Golovkin shots, if he can then the odds will be against Golovkin.

. . . .
lol Judges saved Canelo again! by giving him a draw. The whole arena knew who the winner was because during the post fight interview the whole arena was booing Canelo!!

I should've mentioned it prior to the fight, but watch out for the female judge Adelaide Byrd, she is one of the worst judges around (probably bought off), she scored it 10 rounds for Canelo and just 2 round for Golovkin! WTF

I think it was a fair call. Canelo ruled the first 6 rounds. In the second half, he managed to land some brutal punches but seemed to lose some steam. But the fact that most of the fight he basically toyed with Golovkin and Golovkin failed to land any punches even when Canelo was toying around with his guard down, means Canelo comes out on top.

GGG looked slow & even hesitant, he didn't work his powerful as much, maybe age has gotten to him. Canelo look crisp & fast, but his shots failed to rattle GGG. Quite an even match I would say.

A judge definitely needs bigger glasses and a mental rehab as well. A perfect match was ruined.
And Still !!

Has the rematch been announced ? I think Canelo will get the win in the rematch.

No announcement yet. GGG will be older, maybe 36 by then so the odds are against him. But I hope he will be able to unify all the Middleweight belts before he retire. The next match I would like to see is Canelo up against David Lemieux, that would be an interesting match.

Too risky, one mistake against Lemieux and it could be lights out and the end of a potential mega riches rematch with GGG, though I would love to see Saul and David go at it.Kudos
