Export orders are down, which would lead to reduced imports, and that would impact trade. Investor confidence is down ever since early 2013. This lack of investment rooted due to the view that the government is not an elected one. Our Honorable Finance Minister had already downplayed GDP growth projections, and the Central Bank is wary in its forecasts.
Factories have no problem in carrying out business, but they have trouble with distribution outside Dhaka.
That being said, it is not really business as usual. It is a problem..
THE Opposition had called for a 3 day strike, don't u think it will hit the people very hard, especially labourers who r dependent on daily wages(rickshaw drivers, cart pullers, mill workers). Is the opposition concerned about it,About the lack of investment, let me tell u when there r indefinite strikes, which investor will come to invest even if it is a elected one. Exports will be reduced considerably, foreign buyers will look for new sources.
For eg American buyer who buys apparels for Bangladesh will stop giving orders to Bangladesh due to the strikes & go for some other country. Don't u think it will be a loss for Bangladesh, once this happens it will be hard to regain investor confidence even if the new government is a elected one honorably. The opposition BNP will have a hard time in future, that is for sure. The same happened in Nepal. The communist (Maoist) fought for many years to fight against the ruling party. Nepal is heavily dependent on tourism, due the voilence foreign tourist stopped visiting Nepal & hence less revenue. When the Communist (Maoist) became the ruling party they found it very hard to rule due to less revenue. To attract foreign investment in Nepal, the Communist visited many countries but literally came empty handed,
He asked you a logical question and you don't have an answer. It is typical of you to evade the question altogether but you are missing one thing. If you want any change in Indian people attitude then you don't resort to "Indian backed awami league" like tag lines. Injustice will not be tolerated if it is committed by BAL or BNP
Yes Sir,u r right. I asked him a logical question & he is trying to be evasive. Why will India interfere In Bangladeshi politics, don't we have any other work.
U can't read bangla but u also comment on BD matters based on ignorance & pre-existing bias. Any way my previous post was also in english. AL student wing is directly involved in these burnings.
As for BNP refusal to participate in elections, understand that BD elections used to take place under neutral care taker gov since state institutions remain highly politicized and it was a system demanded via violent agitation by Hasina herself when she was in opposition. India officially backed hasina's stance for a care taker gov in 96. But when in power, she abolished the system in 2011 and consolidated her powers via a constitutional amendment..............officially backed by India off course , Pretty shallow of a shameless despot and her hypocritical backers, don't u think? BNP decided not be give moral & political legitimacy to hasina's sham "election" by participating in it. Not a single party apart from 3 of hasina's coalition allies, that too obscure parties , participated in that circus show patronaged by india.
Forget Bangladeshi politics, even in Indian politics I am not interested. it is the same almost everywhere, every minister sees his kith & kin becomes a minister,in short political dynasty.
About the clipping which u have posted earlier, they were taken from a newspaper which is a mouth piece of Jammat,an opposition party. Will the opposition publish the crimes comitted by them. It is like one thief telling another thief,"I am a saint, pious bcoz I have commited less robbery then u".
