What's new

Boeing’s China orders ‘likely to be affected’ with home-grown C919 passenger jet set for certification, C919 likely to displace Airbus and Boeing sale

This will be huge news.
But Vietnam should wait for 5 years until adoption, just wait for them to get all the kinks out properly, airplanes are serious business.

I keep forgetting it is only a first step for you guys...considering the commercial passenger jet age started in the 1950's in the US.

10 years ago, nobody even knew Huawei. 10 years ago if I told you China would have the most advanced quantum network, would you have believed me?

No matter what you say, how you laugh, we will still continue. We will never stop. The more you laugh, the more you sanction, the harder we work. Thats us Chinese, we have survived for thousands of years. =)

But with 737max, 787 etc, usa has regressed to around 70s level, so the gap is not huge.

That's only two of their models.

US also emerged as a late comer a century or so ago , didn't it?

A century or so ago? Compared to whom?

Maybe closer to 2 centuries ago when there wasn't even 10 million people in the entire country.

But they are not building the 1958 plane . They are building a plane trying to be competitive with latest boeing and airbus.

They are playing catch up still and its a pretty tough thing to do. Imagine competing with Boeing which has like 70 year advantage.

China Eastern To Start Operating C919 In December

31 Oct 2022

China Eastern Airlines has confirmed it is taking delivery of its first Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac) C919 in December, making it the launch operator for the type that received Chinese type certification late last month.

The Shanghai-based state-owned carrier says in a statement it is receiving its first C919 in December.

The Civil Aviation Administration of Ch9oina (CAAC) issued the C919 type certificate to Comac on 29 September.

China Eastern’s statement is significant because it confirms that the state-owned carrier will be the launch operator for the type.

It had earlier said its subsidiary OTT Airlines would operate the five C919s the group has on order, but pictures from the C919 final assembly line show the first aircraft in China Eastern, rather than 0TT’s, livery.

SHANGHAI, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) said it has received 300 new orders for C919 jet at the 14th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, also known as Airshow China.

The new orders for China's first homegrown large jetliner came from seven domestic leasing firms, namely, China Development Bank Leasing, ICBC Leasing, CCB Financial Leasing, BOCOM Leasing, CMB Financial Leasing, SPDB Financial Leasing and Suyin Financial Leasing, the Chinese plane maker said Tuesday.

The C919 took part in a flying display at Airshow China held in the port city of Zhuhai, south China's Guangdong Province, attracting the attention of domestic and international civil aviation companies.

The C919 obtained the type certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China in late September, a milestone step on its journey to market operation.

The homegrown ARJ21 regional jetliner also received 30 new orders at the event.

I certainly would hope China feels their own planes are worthy for their own market.
Sourgrape comment. I feel the feeling of getting squeeze out in world market and the humiliation of making a lemon like B737 max that makes USA a joke in the eyes of the world.

So according to your theory. US send a man to space in 1961 and pioneer in space and completed ISS in 2006. So China space station in 2022 shouldn't happened according to your inflexible rigid timeframe?

Chinese are fast learner. We start late doesn't mean we cannot match the best u have currently. US brag about landing on moon in 1969 but seems like struggle just a put a 1970 moon rocket into space in 2022. U mean it's hoax after all for moon landing , right?

Have you looked at the 737 Max sales lately?

I don't know, but US market is certainly not critical to COMAC's survival.
You guys have been making hay of the Chinese market for Boeing in the first place, whereas, the US market have never considered COMAC to be important.

As for the 737 Max, none of you guys can ever explain the technical reasons why the jet returned to market so soon despite all the insults you levied at it.

It doesnt do away, its flying coffin and lemon by Boeing. Its an unsafe plane. Proven!
Profit above human safety. Motto of trash US Boeing! Must have hurt u badly with this truth! :enjoy:
C919 is ten times safety than lemon B737 Max!

“Boeing and Muilenburg put profits over people by misleading investors about the safety of the 737 Max all in an effort to rehabilitate Boeing’s image” after the crashes, said Gurbir Grewal, director of the SEC’s enforcement division.

The Federal Aviation Administration cleared the Max to fly again on November 18, with regulators in Latin America, Canada, and most recently, the European Union following suit. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency gave Boeing's troubled aircraft the green light on Wednesday, allowing airlines like Ryanair, Norwegian Air Shuttle, and Icelandair, among others, to finally resume Max flights.

Sounds like jealousy, buddy. The 'worst' from Boeing is still the best of COMAC. :enjoy:
