at $100million a piece i dont see hot its a "cheaper" approach to stealth. when according to Wikipedia f-35 costs $83 million a piece. and they forgot Saudis have already ordered Euro fighter Typhoon.
The word 'stealth' is quite overused to the point of meaninglessness. External stores are the greatest contributors of an aircraft's RCS value and that include the pylons that holds them. Cover up the entire assembly and there will be a noticeable reduction in overall RCS value.i can't see it how this can be a stealth
Not possible because of the F-16's single vertical stabilator. It is difficult to believe, but with the new canted twin vertical stabs, the F-15SE's tail section probably matches that of the F-16's in terms of overall RCS contributorship. The F-16 is already quite small radar-wise.if so can this idea can be coperated on the f-16
The F-15's airframe is quite robust. Internalizing weapons and additional fuel stores reduces drag. Further, those external stores induces centrifugal stresses during maneuvers. Moving them closer to the main body reduces those stresses, prolonging airframe life. Perhaps calling this version 'stealth' may be a stretch, but more 'stealthy' than its predecessors is appropriate.Naaaahhh! Trying to put new tyres or a aluminum grill on an old grandpa's Volkswagon Foxy does not make it cool! The F-15SE may be to utilize the remaining platforms in a new light, in comparison to the Obama's policy of reduction in defense budgets which affects the F-22 Raptor program. This F-15SE is just a temporary measure to prolong the death of an otherwise well used F-15 platform. And please calling this aircraft 'Stealth' is an affront to the technological expression!
