Boeing to hold Apache, Chinook prices for another month one last time

India doesn't trust US; all important stuff like mainstay fighter jets, tanks, subs, frigates etc we get from Russia.

Let them have a little something my friend; don't be so greedy :)
Attack helicopter is a front line war machine

The AH-64E is BY FAR the most advanced attack helo in the world.

India doesn't need any more equipment from unreliable Russia.
Do you know what is holding up the deal. Here it is not price negotiation but maybe funding or Mr Parkiar asking do we really need this kind of questions?

Well bro we may dump Russia after forgetting what they did for us when we were poor country with closed economy. Russian revenge with change in policy will hurt India most and US has never been a permanent ally of any one on this world except of course Europeans

It is neither price nor the DM asking if it was needed- if that were the case it wouldn't have been given DAC clearance by him. As to what is holding it up is a good question though, not long ago, once a deal had DAC clearance it got CCS clearance soon after and the PO was issued and contracts signed. Now the NDA is issuing DAC clearances left. right and centre but are barely signing any deals.

The GoI really needs to be made to answer these questions but the fools in the media are getting all too caught up in the DAC clearance headline and are clearly unaware that this is not the final stage in procurement. As another member has pointed out, since May 2014 the NDA/MOD has given deals totalling >$20BN DAC clearance but as far as I can tell fewer than 7% of this amount has actually been signed for.

The past year has been suspiciously devoid of any major defence deals despite a (very modest) year on year increase in the defence budget, I don't know what these clowns are playing at but it is most disappointing given their big talk and their hype leading up to the election.

There are no permanent friends in international relations, only permeant interests as the saying goes. Let's not romanticise the past brother, Russia did not assist India for any altruistic reasons- they gained a lot from such dealings. India is now in a position where it can afford to shop around and does not need to have its defence inventory monopolised by a single player, that too an increasingly unreliable and diminishing power like Russia.

Despite committing tens of billions on projects like the MRTA and FGFA, Russia is toying around with India and producing next to nothing.

With friends like these.....
