It all will end up by MoDs decision about the use and roles of the combat helicopter fleet. If they say IA will get them for fire support of ground forces, there is hardly any use for Apaches or even LCH in IAF anymore. Rudras would fit way better for escort roles, or to support special forces operations.

actually IA need to push for this harder. They are a little late in this case. It should have been done long back. IAF doesn't stand a chance if they lobby more.

look at this...LCH is a long way from now...WSI Druv is still under trial and IAFs opposition to Apache. They are always late for everything. They need to induct Dhruv first, then create the confidence on weaponized flying platforms and there you go!!!...you have a case!..

anyway...Apache for heavily defended places, LCH for ground support and shrug for escorts....add some mi 35...and you are done..
