Bodo militants attack which killed 55

somebody please correct the title from "Bodo Militants" to "Christian Terrorists kill women and children" :coffee:

I hope "secular" do not have a problem while calling a spade a spade.

Ironically most of the tribal killed were also christian. Looks like the news of their conversion did not reach the others in time. The older "Religion of Peace".

NDFB (P) is holding talks where a NDFB-S have ran away to Bhutan. I hope that innocent Indian citizens be it from any religious or ethnic group should not go through such inhuman attacks. Central Government should increase paramilitary troops over there and sign agreements with Bhutan for fencing our side like we are doing with Pakistan and Bangladesh Borders.

The tribals killed were Christian, right...something about Christmas tree decoration ?

Some people have written Hindu tribals ?

Which is right ?

What's the motive here ? Show of power ? Religious angle ?

Bewildering stuff !!!

Victims were both Hindus and Christian adivasis in this attack , In May 2014, Bodo militants killed 32 Muslims in a brutal attack.

It would be a LOT better and easier and effective and efficient if Govt. of India cuts of FUNDING for Evangelical activity's in the N.E. 90% of the problems will disappear. :coffee:

Government seems to be already working on this direction and placing a mechanism to stop the foreign funding but in all this Government doesn't want that genuine organizations and NGO's should face problems. I think the investment from Japan will change things with the time in North East.

NDFB (Songbijit) hideout busted - The Hindu
Kokrajhar, December 29, 2014

A joint team of the Police and Army on Sunday busted a hideout of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (Songbijit) and recovered seven motorbikes and a car in the forest area close to the India-Bhutan border, about 15 km from Khaisiguri village under the Serfanguri police station in Kokrajhar district.

Inspector-General of Police (Bodoland Territorial Area District) L.R. Bisnoi told The Hindu that the hideout was over-run during an intensified operation.

In another incident, the police opened fire to disperse a mob which had come to torch houses in Damruguri Adivasi village under the Serfanguri police station, he said. Four persons were arrested.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi reviewed relief and rehabilitation measures, besides the security situation in the affected districts, a press release said.

Stating that rumour mongering was reported, particularly in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts, the State government appealed to all sections not to give credence to rumours and maintain peace and harmony

Sources said Songbijit's cellphone was tracked to Jaigaon near the Indo-Bhutan border in West Bengal on Saturday night. “He was talking to some of his lieutenants, planning further attacks on tribal villages close to the Bhutan border in Assam to divert the attention of the security forces so that his men could escape,” said sources. Since receiving the intelligence input, the Army has been making efforts to sanitise the area.

“Attempts are on to clear the corridor the militants use to move around from Sonitpur in upper Assam through Bhalukpong via Manas along the Bhutan border to West Bengal through the reserve forests of Buxa and Chapramari. This corridor gives them easy access all the way to Mahananda forest in north Bengal,” said a senior official.
