I am not sure if you are trying to say that it is okay for such killings in India because life in Pakistan is worse? Or you are genuinely ashamed and disappointed with the incident, but trying to look a little west and feel smug that at least it is better than what happens to those Pakistanis there?

If that is your defense of the situation, it is a very sorry defense.

Crimes are despicable everywhere, and just because one happened in Pakistan, does not mean that the one in India is lesser or deserving of less contempt.

Killings are good anywhere in world? Its the echo chamber here that is disturbing...but all echo chambers are disturbing.

A massacre just happened in Canada a few hours earlier....that killing means or matters less because its Canada?

But a Canadian criticizing India on this matter is more credible.

I don't find Pakistan credible on this pulpit, not till it introspects and fixes itself (esp psychologicaly) to lot better shape.

Same goes for Indians needlessly poking around into Pakistan's problems and making some echo chamber of the void +extrapolation to 100% regarding that stuff. India is not on strong pulpit for it either imo.

What all these dalits, xtians - and even the genuine seculars if they exist - don't realise is that Indian Muslims are simply a physical bulwark against the unchecked expansion of hindutva. This is not about the religion of hinduism but about a fascist aberration that seeks dominance over other groups, starting with - but not ending with - Muslims.

By "dominance", what do I mean? I mean mental subjugation and subservience, to paraphrase some famous words:

Those Indians who identify with something other than hindutva will spend their whole lives proving their loyalty to hindutva.

With fascist movements comes a paranoia. A paranoia that is all consuming, resulting in purges, pogroms, and similar displays of absolute power - not always, but periodically - to remind the subjects who is in charge. Even if they stay quiet about religious differences and desist from proselytizing, if a Christian who is true to his faith decides to stand up for a Muslim being persecuted, then the Christian immediately becomes a valid target for these saffron maniacs.

Not all saffron robed bearded guys are Sadhus. Many are scam artistes, a lot of beggars too will don such a garb.

Mob lynchings etc aren't a new thing, spl in villages and small town India where rumors lead to these kinds of things. Pretty savage, but it's a socio economic and education thing, the vast majority of these incidents only make news when the media can put some kind of religious twist on it. Not all, but a lot of incidents of muslims being lynched have zero to do with religion but crime like theft, misbehaving with women etc..
