A bomb blast targeting police post in Multan has injured ten officers but caused no fatalities, a police official said, revising a previous statement.

“The bomb explosion targeting a police checkpost wounded ten police officers,” Multan city police chief Aamir Zulfiqar said, correcting his earlier statement that the three had been killed.

“It seems that the bomb was planted on a motorbike parked close to the police post,” he added.Multan bomb blast wounds 10 policemen | AAJ News

Updated at: 1355 PST, Sunday, June 26, 2011

MULTAN: At least three policemen were killed and several hurt in blast at a security check post, DCO Multan said, Geo News reported.

Police, and rescue teams have reached the spot. Casualties might go up and nature of the blast was uncertain. Victims have been shifted to the hospital.

However, Multan police chief told media that there were no deaths in the blast and said three policemen were injured.
