A powerful blast ripped through a residential building in Nashik on Wednesday, claiming at least three lives and leaving about 12 others injured. The cause of the blast, which was initially suspected to be due to an LPG cylinder, is now being investigated by the ATS.

The blast took place around 3 pm in the three-storeyed Saptashrungi Cooperative Housing Society in Tarwala Nagar. The building also has five shops on the ground floor. According to eyewitnesses, the blast damaged the shops and the first floor apartments. The impact also blew away vehicles parked in the compound.

ATS investigators said the cause and sequence of the blast will be clear only after the entire debris is cleared.

At an initial press briefing DGP Ajit Parasnis said, “There seems to be an illegal godown on the premises. We suspect there could have been firecrackers stored in the building intensifying a cylinder blast.”

Does cylinder blasts, bus accidents come under that?

What game? RIP to the dead civilians.
RIP to the civilians who died recently in a bus accident in Tamil Nadu.

And you failed to read rest of the news article.

"Later, it came to light that a godown in the basement had been taken on rent by one Manohar Gurnani, who has a firecracker business. Gurnani had told the building owner that he wanted the space to store rangoli, but was illegally storing fireworks and gelatin, claimed officials. Gurnani was among those killed.

The police said the first forensic review had shown presence of gelatin. “The presence of gelatin and fireworks could have added to the blast,” said an investigator."

Case filed in Nashik building blast:

Nashik, Jun 9 (PTI) Police today registered a case against four persons in connection with the blast in a residential building that killed three persons and injured seven others yesterday near here in North Maharashtra.

The four included businessman Manohar Gurunani, who had rented a shop in the three-storey building at Panchavati area for storing explosives. He also died in the explosion. Gurunani, his son Anil and two others have been booked under the Explosives Act, police sources said.
Gurunani, who was in the business of digging wells and selling fireworks, had illegally stored the explosives, they said, adding his son has been detained for interrogation. Police have also impounded machines used to insert powder in firecrackers, they said.

Doesn't sound like an accident...
