KURRAM AGENCY: At least 50 people have
been injured as a blast struck an election rally
in Mid Kurram area in northwest Pakistan, Geo
News reported.
According to reports, the blast took place near
the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam rally jointly organized by
party's candidates from NA-37 and NA-38 Haji
Munir Khan Orakzai and Ainuddin Shakir in Sawak
area of Kurram Agency.
A JUI-F confirmed that over 50 people were
injured in the blast. Geo News correspondent
said that the injured were being shifted to Agency
Headquarter Hospital Parachinar.
At least 3000 people, including tribal elders from
border areas to attend the rally, according to
reports.
Heavy contingent of security forces rushed to the
spot and cordoned off the area.

10 dead in blast during JUI-F election rally
KOHAT: A blast during an election rally of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) left 10 people dead and over 30 injured in the Sewak area of Kurram Agency, Express News reported on Monday.
JUI-F leader Munir Orakzai, a former Fata lawmaker contesting from NA-38, was sitting on the stage when the blast took place. Orakzai survived the attack.
Orakzai had joined the JUI-F in February this year. He contested elections from NA-38 tribal area-III, Kurram Agency and has remained undefeated in the previous two elections.
The injured have been shifted to Parachinar hospital.
The police reached the area to conduct an investigation into the attack.
Background
Another JUI-F candidate Haji Mohammad Hashim Shahwani escaped an assassination attempt, on April 26, when his convoy was attacked by a remote-controlled bomb in the Mach district of Kachi in Balochistan.
Earlier on Thursday, Maulana Fazlur Rehman appealed to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to not carry out attacks on candidates from political parties including the Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
Violence increased in the northwest as Pakistan prepares to hold a general election and provincial elections on May 11, which will mark the country’s first democratic transition of power.

Even Jamaat e Islami has not been spared by the terrorists. The terrorists are a cancer to Pakistan. They must be removed before they deal more damage to the Pakistani state. I don't understand why the law enforcement agencies don't take decisive action against the real terrorists while spending their time chasing those who have nothing to do with terrorism. Its a waste of resources. I don't understand why we don't have our priorities fixed.
